Mogul skis?

Dose anyone here have mogul skis? I'm looking at the fat-ypus B-nasty. They look really fun to just mess around on and rip moguls. I thought I'd get yalls opinions.

Damn, those look sick.

I am intrigued by mogul skis. Anyone know how to size them? I typically ride skis 190sm or longer in 100 to 112 wide. 6'3", 215#.

Did you end up getting these?

While pure mogul skis definitely aren't necessary to progress in the bumps, picking up a pair will certainly make the learning curve easier - specifically when it comes to practicing good technique. The B-nastys are a great pair of skis and all fat-ypus skis are bomber. They are SUPER light due to their poplar wood core and the race base is nice to have. The 175cm version is on sale now. ID Ones are kind of the gold standard of mogul skis, but for the price you can't beat the b-nastys IMO.

One quick note on bindings - you're pretty much limited to pivots because they are the only binding out there that I'm aware of that offer 75mm brakes. I'm 6'ft 190 lbs and regularly ride STH2 16s on my all-mountain/powder skis, but I picked up some pivot 12s in a 75mm brake for my mogul skis and haven't had any issues with them. If you're just skiing moguls and aren't hitting jumps, I don't think you need anything more than a 12 unless you're going for more durability. Hope these thoughts help on your intro to the bump world!

What's the deal with sizing on these? Like will the 175 work for a 6'3" 210# dude?

Apologies for the slow reply. 175cm will probably feel a little too short for someone your size - even for a pure mogul ski. I'm 6' 190lbs and they just barely feel on the short side for me. The typical sizing for mogul skis is that they should hit your chin, but for you I might recommend just trying to find a skinny all-mountain twin to use as a mogul ski. I think you'll overpower most true mogul skis (hard to find any much bigger than 175cm on the market). That said, I still love my b-nastys and they feel amazing in the bumps (even though I'm also a larger skier). Hope that helps!
