Mogul Skiing

The problem with mogul skiing is that a new generation = new expectations. It WAS the coolest discipline in skiing but seriously, who is stoked on moguls when it is the same as it was in 1975.

It's actually gotten more boring since 1975 with the identical courses and rules. The judging especially is so specific they really don't score unique styles well at all.

Hot dogging = yes. Modern over regulated moguls = no. Moguls has gone way of ariels into the next to pointless and same thing every time.

If you ski off piste then you ski moguls, some do it more gracefully than others.

Just like everything else in skiing, just because I don't want to put on a skin suit and race others down the hill doesn't mean I dislike that style of skiing.

to kind of expand on my first post I don't hate moguls and really enjoy them, but it's kind of sad to see the state of competition for them. Unless the judging for tricks and turns is made more open to multiple styles, the time requirement is dropped, and the courses are made to better resemble what you would actually see on the hill, moguls is going to continue to be a joke to any kid looking to express themselves through skiing. to ski like they do on the word cup takes a lot of skill and training but at this point the sport looks just like the FIS bullshit it was created to avoid in the 60s

end rant/dead horse beating

I mean moguls is pretty sick. There are also some different styles in moguls like people doing superman front flips or cork 7 nose grabs and stuff. Its also the original freestyle. All the OG's like glen plake and shane mcconkey started out in moguls
