mogul questions

I have a few questions about equipment for moguls. I'm 5'11 and I just got some of the old 181 head mad trix with look p14 bindings. I'm just wondering if this will be a good combo for bumps. (length, ski and bindings). Also, I have a pair of lange racing boots that are probably 7 or 8 years old. Will different boots make a huge difference cause I was looking and a good pair of boots is mucho dinero. If I can get away with my old boots, i'd like to. Thanks in advance guys

mad trixx for bumps? you gots to be kiddin me!!

Get some HEAD JoJo skis, theyve gotta be good, but the boots are more important than getting new skis.

As said previously, head madtrix for bump must be a good job.ANd the guy that said rossi scratch bump, 99.9% you havent even skied them, so fuck off.they litarally suck, on the world cup, they just put the fuckin topsheet on it, and ride another ski.

the 1080 mogul are real good tough, and there i am objectve, serioulsy.

but, as said as well, good boots would be the first thing to look at. some 1080 or promodel would be good, or a rossi freerider.

what boot size do you need?

I think the skis and bindings should do fine. I'd go along with what everyone else said and get some new boots though. 1080's are a pretty good choice, they work good for me and I know a lot of people that use them in moguls. Also the flexons if they fit. Maybe you could find some older model (1 or 2 seasons) salomon x waves, I think the 8's, for less money. those would do fine too.

I mainly ski bumps and I use my 1080's, they work great in my opinion. You deffinatly need to go for a shorter ski.

Thanks for the replys guys. I'm not using these skis to compete or anything, but I do ski alot of moguls, but I also like to ski everywhere, including the park. So I guess my real question is, is the Mad Trix even skiable in the moguls? I'm not looking for a gold medal, just a ski that will be good everywhere on the hill, including the moguls. And thanks for the boot advice too. I think i'll try and find a pair of 1080s

i dono. My bro skis moguls and he had rachles and he loved them. Also he had 1080 moguls and he loved those. That would be my choices

you'll be fine if you aren't competing, but if you could go a little shorter, it probably would help some.

i ski a lot of moguls, boots make a big difference but not as much as the ski. if your boots fit good and tight, but are still comfy then you should be good, stiff boots or soft its up to you, and skis if you get another pair for moguls get some that are thiner and have less sidecut, makes all the difference.

yeah id go with 1080 moguls. for boots id say something that has a good flex, but not so soft that you are flopping all over the place. really once u get good at skiing moguls u can ski them with anything. ive won comps riding my rossignol scratch fs. good equipment helps, but it wont make you a better or worse bump skier.

If you like soft skis goes 1080 mogul or Rossi Scratch Mogul. Volkl makes the Slayer which is a kick ass ski!!! Designed by Travis Mayer very sweet...a little stiff so not a pussy ski. Shannon Bahrke skis it also. Also boots usually depend alot on what your feet look like...narrow, wide, fat, narrow heel etc. Try then all on then decide...Technica Icon is good for wider feet...Salomon 1080 good for wide feet but very soft. Rossi Freeride is narrower (never liked em can't say much) and Lange all I have to say is Moguls & Lange = BAD LANGE BANG OWWWW
