Mogul announcers make me laugh

backflip .... with an iron cross! fuck the announcer almost creams himself when he sees and gets to say the words 'iron cross'

That's Johnny Mosely for you. I can't stand the guy.

Then again, they are trying to "create" excitement for an otherwise un-educated audience. Skiers get it; Joe 6-pack...not so much.

You realize that the announcer is the person that brought freestyle skiing to a world level. He is the reason that they allow inverts in moguls now. And he was the force behind letting Olympic athletes participate in pro events (X-games).

And you also realize that moguls have a whole different set of rules that they have to follow. They don't get "steeze" points. Penciled out spins are higher scoring.

woah, i know jonny mosely is a pioneer of skiing and has done alot for the sport i'm just saying i find it funny when he goes nuts over an iron cross.

Yeah. Do you know how many people watch the Olympics? They have to tell the viewers what is happening and like axebiker said, create excitement. How boring would it be to watch he said in a monotone voice "and an iron cross....". They don't have that style of announcing for you, they have it for the majority of the audience that has no idea what is going on.

Yeah...no kidding. I'm WELL AWARE of who he is. Yeah, he did some great stuff, but once he became an MTV darling, I wrote him off. He bugs the crap outta me. Anybody that has anything to do with anything MTV does pretty much annoys the bejeezus outta me. Mosely is no exception. I respect him for what he's done, but I'm not really "wow'd" by what he's become. His voiceovers in the Warren Miller flics make me wanna shoot someone - mostly me!

my roommate was going nuts over the back flips trying to impress my skiing knowledge. i let him have his moment.

The commentator on the UK coverage was calling flatspin/backflip safetys "nate doggs" for some reason, apparently the guy invented the trick. . . maybe he did, never heard it before though

Jonny mosely but listen to this.

hahaha

i was fighting my dad about it, he kept saying it was a backflip 360 and i tried to tell him it was a cork 7

haha, mogul skiing tricks are typical gaper impressers

OMG A HELICOPTER AND A BACKFLIP, THIS GUY MUST BE PRO

granted, theyre whipping it through the course

shit, i didn't realize they were allowed to do grabs in moguls, the russian dude just did a lincon truck driver...he should win lol.

They aren't really who "I look up to" since they aren't really part of the scene I'm in to, and I can't say I care what they have to say anyway. I was in college when they were in diapers.

I'm more on the age bracket of Seth, Mica, Treadway, & Shane (RIP). These are the guys I'd listen to - but you'll notice that they aren't the same kind of media whores that JM is. JM does a good job at what he does though, but I still don't care for him. He's a little too "bro-brah, dude" for me.

Anything else you'd like to know?

Ever since the Shane Mconkney "incident" I can't help but atleast smile when I see any mogul com on tv.

I really enjoyed the moguls competition. I realized that it isn't exactly like what we do, but there are a lot of similarities. It was just a lot of fun to watch.

"he mixes the water with a little flour.. adds the yeast.. preheats the oven.. bakes it.. the dough rises.. AND HE DELIVERS A FRESH DINNER ROLL!!!" lmfao!!

I did not understand why they deducted the french guy for not grabbing yet nobody else grabs on anything?
