I just got back from my first trip to Philly. I went to visit Drexel University, but before I left this was my last stop, I had to try one before I left. And let me tell you, 'twas delicious. Got it with grilled onions and peppers.
 
oh fuck i saw this thread and immediatley had tio respond. i fucking LOVE phill cheese steak sandwiches...holy shit i had one on my birthday a few weeks back at montanas...sooooooo damn good.
 
i was six flags in new jersey and i got a cheese steak from some vendor that was pretty good. 37 minutes later im on kinda ka or w/e and i throw up in my seat before the ride starts, but no one notices so they start it, and since the thing goes like over 100 mph it started seeping into my shirt, and then on the drop down, it's a 90 degree drop, so it fell off my shirt stright down to the front of the car thing. it was terrible
 
a resturant in my town called "quickies" makes the most chronic sandwiches and even a more chron Philly Chee
 
Yeah, the best philly cheese steak I've ever had was in Merit in that old hotel, Sooo damn goood. Definately my fav sandwich.
 
SWEET i hit tab-enter really quickly for some reason..as i was saying,

i swear that was the EXACT stand i stopped at in philly. the guy looks just like who made mine. and yes they are amazing.
 
what i like doing is get one from pats then ginos and sometime if im really hungary back to pats. the key is the way you order

"give me a wiz wit"

dont get me wrong i love some steaks but the best sandwich in philly is calle dan "oafwich" it is made by powellton pizza in university city. take a hoage roll lightly toasted, spread some mayo and tomato on the bottom, ad 8 count them 8 strips of bacon. the five chicken tenders, you know the big ones. then to seal the sanwich up they melt mozzerella and spinach on the top it is fucking awesome.

but in all honesty the key to everygood sandwich in philly has nothing really to do with what is in it it is the amorosa's rolls they are the shit.
 
My bro goes to Drexel, I go to school literally ACROSS the street at Penn.

Nothing like drunken trips to Pat's at 2am... those fuckers are open late as shit.

There are carts on every corner in this neighborhood (University City)... you gotta know which ones to go to.

Sick thread though, I fucking love Philadelphia. Proud to be going to school down here.
 
he may have, he used to be the house cook at Lambda Chi drexel but i havnt been down since my friend graduated in 01 ( to university city area that is)

i have never had one, and im suprised becasue im a big fan of greasy food that is bad for you but tastes amazing.
 
well ill be at the tower for the tool show may 17th, then after that i will be at the saturday pearl jam show at the tweeter 28th i think what ever it is the saturday show. we all hang at the Belgian eulogy bar in old city all day before PJ concert. its a good time we reserve the coffin room if you ever been there you know what im talkin bout
 
how does your bro like drexel? i'm seriously considering it, i'm visiting again may 13th and i CANNOT wait to get another philly cheesesteak. i'll be sure to take a picture of that one too.

i went to Pats when i went to philly for vacation...in fact, philly was so boring that Pats was def the highlight.
