Well, the other day Marquette bought marquette mtn from its owner. Hopefully they dont fuck anything up so I dont have to transfer out west. Shelby and Schua are still running the park, so things should be all good.

No, its not publicly owned. If what he is saying is right, then the mountain is owned by the city (aka - the local government).

When a company is public, that means it trades on the open market (nasdaq, dow, amex, etc.).

Actually, Hans asked if the mountain was pubically owned, and since the U.P. is like the hairy, droopy nutsack of the Midwest, technically that's correct.

Marquette Township (not Marquette City) bought the land of which Marquette Mountain sits, the ski area is still operated by it's original owner Peter O'Devero LLC who recently purchased a new 3 seat chair from Northstar at tahoe to be put in spring '06.

i got word a little bit ago that they will still have the same budget, and still have the same guys running the place. so shelby and shua will still be building the park, no worries. come and throw down.

It was a time called the 80s and I was in a hole in the wall place called Utah. A guy from CO came in and started making "improvements" after a few weeks a guy who liked to smoke a little grass, have a few chardonays....maybe challenge the mayor to a duel, couldn't do that sort of thing anymore....all Im saying is be careful for what you wish for.....be careful for what you wish for...
