i know i already made a thread, but that was before the playoff spots were decided, and i said the mets were gonna get in.

anyway, lets discuss!

rays vs whitesox

tb leads 1-0, i dont think chicago will win

redsox vs angels

sox lead 1-0

i said the angels were gonna win, but now i dont think so. i think the sox pitching is too strong, with dice k and beckett, i think the sox will win at least 1 of those, and then it will be 2-1 sox. i think then the sox will take 1 of the last 2.

phillies vs brewers

phillies lead 2-0

boy have the brewers dug themselves a hole!! i cant believe CC let up 5 runs in the 2nd inning. jeeze, a grand slam. i guess the 4th straight start on 3 days rest caught up to him. he was pitching wonders earlier

dogers vs cubs

dodgers lead 1-0, but dodgers are winning 6-0 in game 2 right now.

wow, the curse continues huh? i think the dodgers take this one if they win tonight. its tough to lose twice at home then win 3 straight

what do you guys think?

ultimately i think the redsox play the rays, dodgers play the phils

as much as i would love to see sox dodgers in the WS, and to see manny play against boston in a WS, i think its gonna be sox/rays vs phillies. i cant really decide who will win the ALCS, but im leaning towards my hometown sox. i think our postseason play takes it to a whole other level, and with all those rest days, we can start lester, dicek, and beckett multiple times. thats tough for anyone. but again, the rays have homefield and the sox suck at the trop this year. i think the AL ultimately takes the WS, no matter what team
 
im a red sox fan but i dont think they have the hitting or pitching to make it. but i hope i am wrong. if the sox dont win i hope the dodgers do so they can see manny celebrating and realize that we should have kept him.
 
trading him was absolutely the right move. but yeah if the sox lose i definitely will root for the dodgers. i love manny, not to mention derek lowe and nomar. manny will always have a place in my heart no homo lol.

the day that manny comes back to boston i am absolutely sure that we will cheer him and give him a standing o. and thats not just the cocky boston fan talking, thats knowing what a boston fan is like. i dont think that we will boo him after 8 years of MVP type baseball and all the entertainment he provided us, and how much we love him. we never boo when a player has a bad performance either

I can't believe you're trying to back up Manny. He was cancer in the ball club this season. He's been quoted saying "I'm glad I made the move" he didn't make the move, the red sox traded him because he was causing problems in the clubhouse and being a jackoff to management. He's also been quoted saying "I'm glad I was able to leave all the lies back there(in boston)" That's just unprofessional coming from a place where he won two world series rings. He's a total donkey in my mind. I would love to see a Red Sox vs. L.A. Dodgers World Series, just to see Manny and his team lose to the team he's talked so much trash about.

you lucky bastards! brewers finally got a win. JD DREW WITH THE HR. ive always said he was great, but no one believed me. i said that his batting average is directly proportional to how hard he tries. so if he tries 1/4, his batting average is .250. makes sense to me! hes just that good
 
It will be the Red Sox vs. The dodgers in the playoffs Boston has amazing pitching plus their great offense (lead by Dustin Pedroia) and the Dodgers are just really hot right now just like the Rockies last year. It will be Manny of new VS. Manny of old
 
i gotta go with dodgers and rays making it to the series. the phillies, red sox, dodgers, rays will advance. i wish it'd be the brewers and rays in the world seriies though

phils v rays in the ws with home field atvantag for the phils against the dodgers the phils should take it plus our pitching is much better then the dodgers (as long as psot allstar break myers shows up) the rays have owend boston all year and i dont see why that will change either, so my money is phils v rays PHILS FTW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

In the season series the rays won 10 and the sox won 8. I definitely would not define that as the rays owning the red sox. The sox also seem to play better in the post season than they do in the regular season. I think its going to be a great series, that will most likely go down to game 7. As for the Phillies Dodgers series, i am going to give a slight edge to the dodgers. They seem to have more momentum going with them than the Phillies do. I also see this series going into the 7th game. There is definitely no team that has a clear advantage over there opponent going into the league series.
 
the sox and rays series will definatly be a good series to watch. I think if lester can keep pitching like he has been this post season and we can get becket to put together a good start, the sox have a good chance at winning the series. If the sox are going to get it done however, ortiz is going to have to pick it up a little bit and either were gonna have to put up a seriously high run total when paul byrd is pitching or becket, dicek, or lester is going to have to win 2. I dont think byrd has the ability to keep an offense like TB to less than 5 or 6 runs. If the sox bullpen can hold like it did in the first to games of the ALDS and not like the last two, the sox have a pretty good chance of taking it in 6 or 7.... knock on wood. It will definatly be a tough test and i feel confident that the winner of the ALCS will also be the winner of the WS
 
i dont see why everyone is jumping on the dodger bandwagon, the phils have much better picthing over all our team ERA is llike 2.5 points lower then the dodgers with most of that being our bull pen as long as we keep hitting (which we have showed we can do against the dodgers in both series over the season ) i say phillies in 5. the al goes 7 with i say a slight edge on the rays. i bet the phils at a 6-5 fav for the series and the rays as a pickem
 
Am I the only one who doesn't like to watch games played at Tropicana Field? Something about the turf and indoors makes it way less exciting for me to watch. Maybe I'm just picky...
 
i for one just cant stand nation coverage when i am watching the phillies i want to hear harry kalas and chris wheeler especially if the game is in philly. and when thaey go to LA i would like to her evin scully. i am so freackin ssick of that idiot joe buck and his moron partner mcarver. and fox hasnt even started thier playoff coverage. but ron darling and wasnt much better on tbs its rediculous they no nothing about the teams or the history there have no emotional standing either ifthe games or being brodcast the home team commentators should get the call.
 
damn man i feel the EXACT same way. i would pay inordinate ammounts of money to listen to jerry remy and don orsillo doing the red sox games. I can no stand the TBS anouncers. it makes me wanna put the tv on mute and just watch it like that.

ive hated watching games on fox and the like with national broadcasters for a long time because it always feels so dry and distant (kind of like what you said); they just don't have that connection with the team(s). they just talk talk talk and just talk about whats good about the team that is currently doing well, and it gets bloody monotonous.

plus they green screen the ads on the backstops so it gets even more generic.
