....Fuck you Oakland Athletics. FIGURE IT THE FUCK OUT. SERIOUSLY. WHAT THE HELL.

Josh Donaldson is seriously the only player who's worth a damn on offense.

CRAZY bottom of the ninth for the yankees..... they had to win that

game tying bomb by tex

walk off by headley

Nope. And to think, you traded one of your best hitters, rented a pitcher for a year, and are now missing the playoffs because of it. Sorry Billy, this one didn't work.

You're an idiot. Sorry, not sorry.

1. Cespedes was gone this offseason no matter what. I'd make that trade again 11 times out of 10.

2. Lester has been far more important to this team than Cespedes' pedestrian ass .260 batting average and hilariously bad .300 OBP ever would have been. Sure, he's got a good arm from the outfield, but Lester's pitching has been far more effective in that regard than Cespy ever would have been in left field... I'd rather have strikeouts than TOOTBLANs

3. It's a team game. The Oakland Athletics are failing to hit their way out of a paper bag team-wide. Moss hasn't hit a homer since July, all three of our catchers are banged up, our middle infield is trash, and Callaspo just grounds into every double play ever. Kazmir is pitching like 2011 Kazmir, Hammel has been mostly bad, Gray has either allowed 8 runs or lost a great outing to poor run support, Samardyxjzia has been inconsistant, and our offense can't buy Lester any relief.

4. Injuries. Crisp is perpetually hurt. All our catchers are banged up. Our middle infield is in shambles, our star closer is out with an injury I've never even heard of, and even if our starting pitching does well, our fucking bullpen can't seem to play half as well as they used to. This team went from 1989 A's to 1997 A's in the span of a week, and nobody knows how the fuck it happened.

I'm pretty sure teams like Oakland and Milwaukee exist merely to troll their fans constantly. Both were leading the league for half the season only to absolutely collapse to the point of basically death within a month.

Ridiculous.

No offense taken, 9/10 times I will admit I know very little about baseball, and this is one of those times. I haven't followed the As before or after the trade and haven't followed Lester since.

I was just under the impression that you guys were losing a power hitter from the middle of your line-up and that pitching hadn't really been of a concern lately.

Cespedes was our 3rd best power hitter, after Donaldson and Moss.

...the real problem there is that Moss hasn't hit a home run since fucking July and Donaldson's only hit like 3 or something. Cespedes STILL has less than those guys, and he's hitting in a hitters park now. I consider Cespedes like any ol guy who just swings for the fences and lacks plate discipline... only this is one of the rare occasions that he actually isn't just a fat DH type, but a guy who has a pretty good arm (still misplays balls all day.)

And the Giants just won there 9th straight home game. It's getting real only 2 games back. And we are starting this series against the Dodgers. Go Giants!

The Choke-land struggle continues granting the Angel's a clinch.

M's prematurely blew their load with last nights 13-2 stomping. Despite Paxton's strong start and 3K's on Trout, the offense just failed to make an appearance once again. Same shit, different day. Still in the hunt though and looks to be a winning season for a change. That's celebration enough in my book. Anything more is just a bonus.

That was the most fucking derp I've ever seen.

...There goes the season. What a fucking waste.

Last night's struggles were pretty fucking bad for the A's. Tonight just wasn't in the cards, but last night could have been avoided.

After the season is said and done for the A's, the focus of conversation is most definitely going to come back to the Cespedes trade. Commentators are going to have a field day with that shit. And it's going to be annoying as fuck.

You mean the last two months have been pretty fucking bad for the A's... They can't win 1 run ball games to save their ass, and they can't score more than 3 or 4 runs to.. save their ass.

The bullpen can't stop hitters, and the hitters can't hit. When the hitters do hit, and the bullpen does well, the Starter is already out of the game because he allowed 7 runs... it's just murphys law all over the place.

Fuck the whole Cespedes garbage. Overrated 260-270 hitter with high strikeout/homerun potential, lackluster ability to draw walks, average outfield instincts and a killer arm. He will get liked by Boston because home runs are sexy, but he's not even as good as his rookie year showed he was.

Maybe playing in the AL east will change something, who knows. He's still not that old, and has potential still, but it doesn't matter. People forget that the A's can't resign a guy who's going to command a 5 yr 100 million dollar contract like, well everyone else can... It's not like he's been cranking homers out of the park in Boston anyway... by the numbers he's actually batted worse there than in the Coliseum. I'd argue that without Lester, Oakland would be even more in trouble at this point.

He would have got oakland 2 or 3 middle-ground prospects. Nothing life saving. So goes the Boom-Bust that is the Oakland A's.

Lol, my friend Chelsea has like a bazillion likes for this Kiss Cam. They totally had talked about doing this a minute earlier and when they got on "WE HAVE TO" and instafame.

See, LA/SF rivalry, you don't have to stab and beat each other like Turkish soccer hooligans every single year...

my friend got called up to the cubs a couple weeks ago and has been seeing some innings. Eric Jokisch. Used to live together.

Oakland needs 2 wins in 4 games against the worst team in baseball in order to not fully embarass themselves.

also, I guess it makes sense why moss has been so bad Post ASB... dude needs microfracture surgery on his hip. it's been bone on bone and he's not able to drive the ball deep like he did in May/June

mariners blew it. Hoping for a big signing this offseason and it really should be an exciting offseason if walker has progressed, rodney can keep consistent, felix is felix, and iwakuma can keep it straight. Run support, run support, run support.

Game 162 and it still fucking matters. 2014 Mariners are reminding Seattle there are more than 2 sports that still exist in this city.

Thanks for the opportunity chOak-land. Gray vs Felix is a good way to end the normal season when all bets are in.

wow what a game

That was an amazing game.

Bye, bye, Oakland, you didn't deserve to be there this year. Kansas had the drive and pulled that shit off with clutch production.

Would've been interesting to see Seattle vs. Kansas for that Wild Card game though.

That was the most Oakland collapse I've ever seen Oakland collapse.

Fucking CLASSIC failure right there. Only Oakland seems to do this kinda shit.

Oh no don't worry, the Pirates do the same thing. Hopefully not tonight though. Go Bucs!!

I don't think you quite understand how classic this is of Oakland, dude.

The amount of weird playoff failures is just unprecedented for this club.

they really do go out in a spectacular fashion usually. Just not consistent enough I think. Both in terms of across a season and even individual games.

Bit late to the party, but I have to say that I'm not all that disappointed in the Red Sox this season. They were a team that laid it all out there last season and brought it home. They were drained and didn't care as much this season. Can't blame them for that entirely. Plus it gave us a chance to see the young guys absolutely light up a few pitchers for the last few weeks of the season.

That game last night was awesome. It kept me on the edge of my seat until way to late (EST). Now I'm dead tired at work.

I hope tonight's game will be just as exciting
