Hey guiz,

My homie and I are getting into Djing and we have been looking at different mixers to get.

We were thinking about the traktor s4, but it is mighty expensive.

I know there are some DJs on NS, and I was wondering if you guys have any suggestions that might be more cost effective than the s4, but still pack a punch.

Thanks errbody have a nice day!

this one rocks

fuck haha my b. Yeah I'm very new to the DJing world so a midi controller. I should probably learn the difference before making myself look like a duncelshmutz

In my experience, unless you want to do all the midi programming its easiest to buy the controller that's designed for your software, i.e. the S4. It might cost you more than other options that will do the same thing but it will be the most intuitive and get the best support for controlling traktor.

There are other ways of performing but if you want to DJ thats a good start. You'll also need some headphones, and ideally some speakers. I think the S4 has a sound card in it so in that case you're good to go.

Actually, cranberry juice is the best mixer with vodka. You can't go wrong with rum and coke. Mix light with light or fruit juices and mix dark with dark. Red Bull and Jager for Jager Bombs though.

do you know what software you want to use? im personally a big traktor fan and use a traktor kontrol s2. having used the s4 numerous times it's nice to have the flexibility of 4 decks but it's price tag makes it a little hard to justify as a beginner's controller.

if you really have no idea where to start just look at this guide, it's easily one of the most useful hookups for someone looking to get into digital djing.

Came in here to post about mixers because I thought you were talking about mixers. But now that I see that you are really talking about mixers, I'm not exactly sure what to say.

I assumed you were talking booze, was gonna talk sound, now I'm confused because what I was going to do goes along with the purposes of this thread. Also I probably don't know enough about anything to make a great recommendation.

Personally I love my traktor s4. It gives you great features that many controllers dont offer. I also love how you can use it as a stand alone mixer if I am ever in the cdj mood. I've also heard good things about the Allen & Heath Xone:4D controller. It is probably way to advanced for beginners. Though there are so many great controllers out there today and would suggest for a beginner not to go to advanced until you learn the basics of DJ'ing. Make sure you do alot of research before you buy somthing though and look about the pros and cons of it.
