Mitt Romney... Speech.

When he was telling the rose story, I actually felt for him. I admire his business skills, I have no issue with him, or his speech.

It has been a great speech. Too bad paul ryan is crazy and romney can't stick with what he actually believes because he has to appeal to the republican voting base

We are voting for the President not VP. Joe B. is a fuckin clown dude, if people actually listened to him Obama would have never won.

He just said that he doesn't care about the planet, or stopping global warming... he just wants to help American families...

I'm actually getting pissed off.

he didnt say that at all. he said obama said he would stop the water from rising in the gulf or something. then he said he just wants to help america. he never said he didnt care about the planet or global warming jesus fuckin christ.

GLOBAL WARMING is something that has yet to be proven as an actual fact. We simply do not have the technology do to so. Our economy is also not in the shape to a.) depend on foreign oil and b.) suffer form the costs of alternative energies.
Lastly, why are you pissed that he wants to help american families? Thats what this country needs.

Mitt Romney has the charisma of a tree stump. Ryans speech was infinitely better last night.

And if you knew anything about global warming than you'd know that its not even called global warming... Its called climate change and its something the Earth does naturally and has done naturally since its existence.

Who gives a rats ass if he's good a giving speeches. How about we stop that mentality and adopt one that embraces WHAT A POLITICIAN ACTUALLY DOES!!!

Romney: "Obama promised to slow the rise of the oceans...My promise is to help you and your family."

So he's going to show Iran, Russia and the world's oceans who's boss? Because that's the kind of thing that helps families. USA! USA!

Romney: "I have a plan to create 12 million new jobs." hahhahahaha, ummm ok mitt, whatever you say.

There was no fucking argument. He looks like a plastic robot. Just simple statement that the economy sucks and therefore the president should be fired. That's it. It's just nonsense.

He's was never anything more than a Manchurian candidate.

Im dead fucking serious. Go read something about the icehouse and greenhouse affect and the Earths climate history with it you ignorant ass hole.

Also I care about the speech because this thread was about the speech. And it was mediocre at best.

He clearly said that he was going to cut the defect. You liberals are just to ignorant to accept the fact that its actual possible to do that.

Im an environmental policy major so I've read one or two things about climate change... all past climate shifts can be explained by other variables like changes in earths orbit... current change can not... also over 97% of scientists believe climate change is both real and anthropogenically caused. Im sure your right though because you seem sooooooo knowledgable on the subject

You'd realize that the amount of CO2 in our atmosphere has been hundreds, if not thousands of times higher than what it is right now. Mind that this was before humans even existed...

You are ignorant to facts from multiple sources conservative and liberal.

D E F I C I T deficit. Not defect.

But please continue the name calling, its really helping your case.

Oh god... are you denying that big industry and the consumption/emission of fossil fuels isn't harming the planet and our environment permanently? Did you just go full retard? Drive into oncoming traffic.

For those people that think that climate change is a completely "Natural" process, and that we have nothing to do with it is a myth, please alleviate your severe retardation by watching this videohttp://www.vvcnetwork.ca/empireclub/20120613/

bull shit bull shit bull shit... I dont give a fuck if your a enviro major. Your being taught by a institution that is probably more liberal than you are. Also wheres the source for that stat that 97% of scientists believe in climate change.
The only thing you are right about is that the Earths eccentric cycle around the sun has intend made MINOR, VERY MINOR changes.. Those minor changes, along with the fluctuating output of solar energy from the sun can rise or decline CO2 levels in our atmosphere. The only problem though is that we do not have a long range of history when it comes to measuring a.) the earths eccentric path and b.) the suns solar output.

Go find the CO2 levels in our atmosphere during the permian age. You'd find that they where upwards of 2 MILLION parts per billion. Thats so much more than present day. Also, I am in no way denying that man made carbon emissions is "changing" our atmosphere. What I am saying is that the whole global warming propaganda being dispersed by people like you is blown out of proportion because we don't know shit about forecasting when it comes to science. No matter if its for tomorrows weather, or for 100 years from now.
Also, we are no where close to becoming dependent on alternative energies, so why make legislation that encourages this dependency when all our economy is going to do is by oil from another country who doesn't have that legislation.

ya google doesn't have anything about that unless you spelled it wrong. I agree we have a limited ability to predict the future when it comes to weather. There are way too many variables to make accurate models but that doesn't mean we should just deny that it is happening. The best estimates that scientists have been able to create through the models that have been proven most accurate in the past have shown that if even a small percentage of what they predict is true then we will have global food, water, and land shortages with billions of environmental refugees that will destabilize the international political community. We need to invest in alternate energy because we can not rely on foreign nations for our energy security. We need to produce the energy we use instead of just relying on 1 us economically being able to purchase fuel or 2 other nations agreeing to sell us fuel. Fossil fuels within the US are limited and we need to acknowledge that and work towards renewable options sooner rather than later. It will increase our security as a nation.

meh. very little actual substance in the speech. i'd say about 80% was just lies and him spewing shit to get people riled up. its clear he doesnt like making big speeches like this and obviously he isn't good at it. that's not necessarily a bad thing, though. i'd rather have a president who isn't in it just for the publicity.

i really wish the bullshit would end where politicians spend 90% of their time pandering to as many people as possible to make sure they get re-elected and keep their job and 10% of the time actually doing their job. and of course they spend about 9% of that doing things they dont really think will help anybody so that, again, they put themselves in the best position possible to get re-elected so they can keep their jobs.

the state of american politics is such a shit hole right now

i think the climate naturally shifts and changes own its own. but i also think that the waste and pollution we create isn't helping, its just making it worse. i dont think we can really prove global warming either way really

well, ill bite. first off, global warming, climate change, lets get real they are the same. dont try to distance the two terms because one has a more favorable perception than the other. the planets climate is changing, specifically its getting slightly warmer--hence the term global warming. second off, you state that the american economy cannot depend on foreign oil OR suffer the costs of alternative energies, when both are non-optional choices. the US is incapable of supporting its own oil consumption. we statistically do not produce enough oil to not depend on foreign oil. you might argue that we should drill for more, and to do so would create jobs AND reduce foreign dependence on oil. to which i say, how is expanding oil production different from expanding renewable energy production, and how is it favorable to choose oil over renewable energy. perhaps the costs of investigating and harnessing new energy sources is expensive, but not more so than the hazards of oil. the BP gulf spill costed 3 billion to cleanup, and for what, a finite energy source, most of which won't even go to the US, but will be sold by BP in more favorable markets. alternative energies such as wind and solar offers american energy for american consumption created by american workers. lastly, no one is pissed for "wanting to help american families" that's what we all want. that last statement is just divisive and un-thought-out. sorry if im taking the internet too seriously but that whole comment just made my head hurt, i hope my reply sounds as rational as i tried to make it.

p.s. can someone post a link to the speech

if you think that global warming (it doesnt exist but whatever gets your dumbass off fine by me) is the biggest issue and something we need to worry about, i would highly encourage you to go fuck yourself with a cactus. were in a tough economy and what we need are jobs, thats all what people care about today, president candidates arent gonna talk about global warming cause its not that important of an issue.

I know it's not about the speech but I was getting the feeling that rockshead was going to pull the job loss card on this one.

Red is bush Blue is Obama

Also just for the record the scientific community now prefers the term anthropogenic climate change or climate disruption because they imply humans are causing it

While it might not be the most immediate issue, I do think it is one of the most important issues as we are already encountering water shortages and droughts though out the US which are severely harming our agriculture industry as well as our ability to produce goods which require water during the production aka anything metal that needs to be cooled while being produced

Really? I find Romney to be drab, boring, and almost awkward at times, like hes being forced to speak. Its very fake the whole time.

Ryan brought the energy last night, and seemed confident and ready to take charge, not ready to go back and correct himself at any second like Romney.

If were talking content they were both crap, its all lies and BS anyways. But in terms of what the average American will like, I see Ryan being much more effective.

well okay... not where i live but thats irellevant. okay well shit happens we didnt get a great year for rain for most of the us, we didnt get a great year for snow in everywhere but the northeast, but it could be better next year. thats irellevant for global warming.
