Mitsubishi's Announcement to end the Evo

Some of you may know this but Mitsubishi has decided to end the production of the famous Evo. They believe they should make more earth friendly cars and rumors of a hybrid Evo in the future may be real but nobody knows for sure. This is a sad time for an Evo lover like myself. This makes me think that in 10+ years Evo's will be the new GSX/Talon of tuners, rare and amazing.

Not the best link, couldnt find the better one.

who wants a jap tuner car that breaks a lot and costs an extra 10grand for the having the name of a television manufacturing company

I do. Its in my opinion cooler than most Porsche's since I've seen so many in my neighboring town which is full of Audi's, BMW's, Porsche's and even some Jags. Its especially valuable to rally lovers including me and friends. And lastly they do not break a lot especially compared to competitors like the STI. Especially when they changed the 4g63 to the 4b11t.

PS its pretty cool IMO that a TV manufacturer can make something that can beat supercars like LFAs and Astons as seen on Top Gear lol

We own a Jag (XKR) and a Merc (GLK) among other things, but an Evo to me is still 100x cooler. Shame to see it go

Having to lean that hard on your parents mediocre materialistic expenditure on an online forum.By all means you are a sad, sad kid. I feel for your parents, they are raising a spineless twat.

If they want to be eco friendly maybe they could launch a fully electric rally car. Start in racing and then bring it to the streets. Its been done before and I think would push R&D to bring the tech from rally to something the everyday driver could use and be practical.

In denial that they would simply off the evo even though I'm a subaru fan.

how am I 'leaning that hard'? I made a comment, which was challenged as false, and I proved it. I'm not bragging or anything. I said that I found Evos as cooler than those, which I believe they are.

you could have easily said your opinion about the evo without claiming you owned a jag and a merc. you're trying too hard that you went out of your way to prove to newschoolers that your parents have expensive cars when really...nobody could give two shits. go waste more of your parents money on jiberish.

Fucking lame. My brothers EVO VIII got jacked one day in his driveway. Someone smashed the window and off they went. He put years into that car and now with the stopping of production he would have loved to have kept it.

Sad day.

Claimseption, this is the point where I would write my username on a piece of paper and then walk around my block and take a picture of a Ferrari and The new Corvette that just came out (I know so much about cars) but I don't feel like doing that. Let's all pretend I did that, GET THE FUCK OUT OF HERE YOU BROKE ASS BITCH!

fucking shame. did he have insurance? I know that money can't even begin to compensate for the work invested in the car, but it would fucking blow if he just lost the car without any compensation

We as in your parents hahahahahahhahahaah

A lot of our parents have nice cars man. This is not a forum that targets inner city kids.

I think people get this idea because industry in Japan is a lot younger and more transparent than in the U.S. the same group that owns Ford probably owns a Cornmeal processing company, but nobody calls ford a corn company because they dont have the same name. Its the same in Japan except every division of the company generally keeps the owners name.

haha exactly, its not like engineers work on tvs on Mondays and Tuesdays and cars on the rest. They are separately(to an extent) ran

i have an evo ix.

i dont mourn the passing of the evolution brand. i dont think the customer base that bought the previous generation evos are really the kind of people that buy the evo x and any subsequent evolution models that would follow that. the new cars are heavy, numb, and filled with creature comforts like "airbags" and "satellite radio with navigation"

just as long as they dont stop making replacement parts for my CT9A. because dear jesus fucking god does that car break alot.

I bought an Evo x in November and have loved the car ever since. She's out me through hell and destroyed my wallet but I have never had so much fun in a car. Handles so well and that is the key to the success of the Evo line. Mitsu was able to turn an awd car in the 40k range into a borderline supercar-esq track car

Turbo lag happens with almost all turbo cars ... Well all reasonably priced turbo cars. My wrx is especially bad because until the turbo spools up it's just a little 4 cyl 2.0 liter lol

Jealousy of a neighbors 9 mr a bunch of years ago where what made me save my ass off! I bought it used with some basic mods. It was an 08 with 44k miles on it. Basically I had to do timing chain right away. That problem was common up until the new design on the 2011s. (Insert shitty customer support here) then the old owner must not have been good at driving stick because the clutch was shot and the flywheel. Lastly after I put a heavy duty stage 3 clutch in I popped the clutch master cylinder. That was on recall thank god haha.

As for turbo lag I haven't really driven many other turbod cars (modded) so I can't really say. It doesn't feel laggy but it's what in used to.

lol.

if i were your parents, and you were bragging to your internet friends about what cars YOU own, even though it would take you 2500 weeks to buy one with your $20 weekly allowance, and THEN you went and posted the license plates on the internet, i would probably take away all your video games and send you to your room for early bedtime with NO SUPPER!
