this feels like a wanted add but here goes ..im heading to missoula for school in a couple weeks ... looking for anyone in the area in general just to get some news on things going on up there and for people to ski with this winter :-)

I know many people going to school there and a couple of skiers but they aren't on ns and i'm going to bozeman.

Basically for skiing the is:

Snowbowl- just outside of town so its easy to just hop up there for a halfday, not much terrain

Discovery- is about 60-70 miles it has a good amount of terrain and is amazing on rare days when it snows.

Lost Trail- All i have to say is SNOW there is never a shortage for them

There is some sick back country in the missoula area you just need to find it

Lost Trail is the most underrated ski area in Montana. Holds pow forever, sick terrain, and a killer vibe. I saw the owner in his ski boots and Carhartts at a BBQ, I wish Big Mtn could be like that....

snowbowl is pretty much the worst mountain in the state. lookout gets boring really fast and Losttrail is pretty big and has some good terrain but its 2 hours away from missoula.

Ya Missoula is a way cooler town than Bozeman i was going to go there but i decided i wanted to ski, i'll probably visit Missoula a lot i have many friends going there and it would be fun to be in the chill atmosphere

how would you know unless you live in one of the towns? The Uof M campus is sick, but I really don't like the rest of missoula. It seems kind of dirty. MSU is where the skiing is found though.

hell yeah, i actually just got all moved into my house in missoula, so now im just waiting for the snow...and school i guess.

i go to missoula and I shred every day cept sunday, don't listen to haters, they have never lived on the east coast with all this talk about no skiing in missoula.

yeah you're right, you probably shouldnt listen to people that have spent most of their life in Montana. Skiing around Bozeman (bridger, big sky, moonlight) is way gnarlier than missoula
