Took a wild fall this week, comrades. Fractured ankle, fractured wrist, strained LCL. Lot of hurt in my body - the one thing that didn’t hurt was my head. I was totally coherent despite yard saling so hard that the even the GoPro on the helmet went flying. Today I picked up my MIPS helmet and realized how insane it was that I didn’t get a concussion (or worse). So… yeah wear your helmet and pay the extra nickel for MIPS! It’ll save ya life.

you can see the yellow slip layer thru the vent in the first pic... not saying the cracked shell and foam shows the MIPS function, but more so the force of impact OP is trying to express

Hey guys, jaded gear reviews here to show you guys the smith mirage ski helmet with mips, if you hit your head with it on you will definitely start seeing things. I've concluded it's absolute shit, wayyy to hot and heavy for mtb.

MIPS is so great for both skiing and riding. I have MIPS in my half-shell and full face MTB helmets, will never ride without it.

Good evening you fucking asswipe. OP is attributing his injury for not being worse because of his helmet which is equipped with MIPS. We know nothing about his impact other than what he says, if the man thinks this technology helped him let him believe it and spread the good word.

You’re seriously suck a kill joy. MIPS is within his helmet, it’s implied it’s part of the helmets construction, and he showed his helmet. It makes sense.

I wish I had it. I was racing out to grab last chair at Beaver after working most of the day. To get to the lift from my buddies place you catwalk to Cresta on arrowhead side. Turned out Cresta was closed because snowcats had been trekking up and down it - crazy chop, huge ruts, all iced out. I tried to stay left and get down it as quickly as I could… turns out there’s a service road on the left side they were still using that had huge snow drifts hiding it and kinda blending in with all the chop. By the time I saw how sketchy it was I couldn’t really get a good turn in to avoid it and had to go over the drifts. Dropped 5 ft and hit the second one awkwardly. Ski got caught in a rut and I went double eject front flip to fucked.
