just got a mip in utah and dont know whats gunna happen. its my first ever offense with the law so idk if theyll give me a warning in court or if theyre gunna rape me. Ive heard from friends that you get a few hundred dollar fine and if your clean for 6 months it goes away, and then online it says up to $1000 fine and license suspended for a year.

anyone else get an mip in utah and what happened to you?

what the internet is saying is most likely the maximum penalty, i'm not going to speculate to your punishment but i'm guessing it will be much more lenient

the whole goes away in 6 months is only possible with a lawyer asking for withheld judgement.

I got a "not-a-drop" ticket in Utah while operating a vehicle. Blew a .02 i was 19. I just got done at trolley square and was heading home with friends pulled a really fast u turn in my old subaru wagon. Got pulled over a block later for exhibition of speed. Ended up getting that $750, not a drop $750, vehicle towed $280, license suspended $200, and a youth alcohol abuse class $260. Lesson learned...yes.

ive got a buncha friends that have gotten mip's and dui's in utah, and it never turns out too bad. buddy got pulled for not a drop dui, separate bags of weed, 40 in a 25 and all he got was a year suspended license and 3 months probabtion, and that is without a lawyer. i would suggest lawyer up and make sure you get Judge Alverez(sp?) he went to west high and if you are an upstanding kid with decent grades he usually lets people off real easy

I got a DUI in utah when I was 20 it sucked terribly. Fuck judge birch, fuck draper city court, and fuck slc county jail.

I got one in the dorms at the U when I was 18. I had to go to court along with all the other kids who got one with me. We all got the same thing - $400 fine, alcohol class at the U, and a year of probation. We all plead no contest.
