Minidv help

I have a macbook
and a sony handycam mini dv
I can't get my computer to recognize my camera
it's plugged in via firewire
and imove 06, imove 08 and final cut express wont recognize it.
please help me

Have you tried it with a different computer or cord? If that doesnt work than your dv port might be dead on the camera. It has happened to two of my cameras and it sucks. I havent looked into how much it costs to repair tho, if anyone knows let me know cause I have some footage on dv tapes that I would want.

Did you turn the camera on? That happened to me once but then I turned it on and it worked...does USB not work too?

it could be a bad firewire port on the computer. Do other things work in it? that happened to the USB's on my old computer.
