How does everyone feel about filming non hd with mini dv tapes? Good or Bad? Personally I love it and bought a dvx100b, inspired by Hg

If you wanna do it, go for it, but logging tapes is a PITA and you're creating a sub par image in comparison to everyone else, but some people like that.

they are fun but can be a pain in the ass. You made a good choice in camera, I wouldn't even bother with tapes on anything other then a DVX tbh

I love shooting at night with my dvx100b, great darks. But definitely an aesthetic choice with the quality of your footage

Not usually, although I brought units and a generator if there wasn't a streetlight
