mini DV camera

I'm looking for a cheap minidv that I can use next season for shooting ski vids. anyone have any suggestions? I'm poor but can scrounge up some cash but the cheaper the better.

get a 3 ccd 'chip' camera if you care at all about your picture quality. make sure that you have a big hard drive on your computer and if you buy one with 'firewire' make sure your computer has firewire ports or an empty expansion slot. if you want to have a helmet cam make sure you buy one with video inputs as well as outputs. get good editing software such as pinnacle studio or final cut. make sure you get a camera with optical zoom and image stabilazition (digital is the devil it makes your video all fuzzy) both canon and sony make quality camcorders. check on ebay (where i have bought 2 camcorders) and sales at shops

this guy was looking for a cheap camcorder. 3ccd camcorders cost like 2000$ or even more. my 3ccd panasonic was like 2000$ when my dad got it.

when it's cloudy, the one ccd cameras aren't that nice. but if you don't wan't to waste all of your money for a camera then buy a single chip camcorder. sony and panasonic make the good cameras and nearly every camcorder has an image stabilizer. go in to your local shop and ask them what they think. just make sure it has DV INPUT and OUTPUT and your computer has a DV CAPTURE CARD.

I just ordered a Canon Optura 20...I know it doesn't have 3 CCD's but it seems good for what I want to do. Retail is $900, but I found it online for $567.10 (shipping included in that).

i saw an advertisement in videomaker for a 3 chip camera with optical zoom and image stabilazition for $999

 
pany pv-gs70 best camera ever and under 1000 us all the manual controls you really need (focus ring, white balance shutter speed, exposure) and with 3 ccd the video is a million times better than anything else in its price range, i saw a comparison of the gs70 and a 1chip that was the same price and the difference was unbelivable. it is super compact and awesome it is the best camera ever.

i have a panosonic mini dv and i dont really like it. on cold days the side of the screen goes kinda weird. it makes little boxes and stuff on the side it sucks

i like to burn things

i can do a summersault
 
make sure to get one with a good viewfinder, dont worry about a LCD screen, LCDs are hard to see on bright days and on cold days they do strange things
