Mind=blown

I think math is the best way to explore this concept. The big bang is the starting and ending of our universes cycle. Everything was condensed back into the original 1.

But I am left with one question...

Why did 1 become 2?

Dear, Panda... You have some right and some wrong, but mostly I believe that you are correct.

Dear, God... 1:1 is still 1 but is perceived as 2 ...I think everything is going through the cycle of life in an attempt to match up

man oh man, do i have one for you guys. i was mindlessly watching tv yesterday when i can across a classic apple commercial. you know, the one with the guy holding it and using it for 30 sec. but then i noticed smt... the phone is always facing the camera dead on, never moving. so maybe these people have super steady hands... but no. i watched on and found that each time someone holds the iphone, there hand is in the exact same position as everyone else. I looked into it some more and came to this startling conclusion... THE HAND IS FAKE. thats right. check it, its clearly a wax hand:

so MIND=BLOWN? I think so.

maybe youre correct, but just making a fucking screenshot of a guy with very clean hands holding it and using that as a template for the rest of the clip seems to be like it would be WAAAY less effort than building a fake hand.

Earth is hardly some "random floating rock," of all those planets Earth is totally unique, but whatever, thats not what this thread is about.

i just forgot about breathing for a couple seconds after reading that while i thought of how fucking insane that actually is.

be careful. the "humans are the best thing in the universe" fraction of NS wont take that lightly.

i am completely with you. we are unimportant by any accounts. chance is, IF there are aliens (which i am pretty sure, just a probability thing), there are probably way more advanced ones (obviously also "lower" ones). there are alien civilizations out there that are now where we will be in 1000 yrs. those that managed to not blow up their planets.

i personally think its completely awesome that the universe is this vast, inexplicably big space, totally unbothered by human actions.

oh wait no i thought it meant you could physically observe the star that produced the atoms you are composed of exploding, seeing as it would have happened in the past and is being seen now due to the finite speed of light. but the atoms could never exceed the speed of light and reach you on time so that was stupid.

still, a cool thought. also, to think that the atoms you are made of could have come from the same star as the atoms on mars or in the sun or on any other star out there. weird.

That can't be supreme, it's on $3.93 per gallon!? It must be a knockoff or something, real supreme is like $90.00 per gallon. Once you put that real shit in your car, your car starts wearing Hawaiian shirts and hats my dad would wear. I tried it in my car once, and my car grew a mouth and started rapping yonkers. Pretty wack.

What if we're all robots but we're programmed to think we are biological beings and feel things like pain, but really we're just cyborgs... :O

Yeah but try and think of a new one. Like I've never done it but people on acid say they see extra colors. Try and think of one of those

ok gotta clear somethin up just in case... those are definitely not what neurons - the communicating cells in our brain that transmit information - ("brain cells") look like at all. at most those might by glial cells, the support and maintinence cells in the brain.

psych major. had to do it. sorry

okay, so. please bear with me on this one, i was thinking about this last night before i fell asleep. so i'm sure everyone would love to be able to "record" their dreams right? now this is entirely hypothetical since it would take an insane amount of time, and i might be misunderstanding this anyway, but hear me out.

basically couldn't we make up like, a "database" of brain activity, ie how the brain reacts to certain things, and use this to "translate" dreams? like, measure activity while people are dreaming and compare it to their individual database? so like, if their reaction to seeing a cat was x, or feeling scared was y, and so on, could this be used to "read" their dreams? obviously this would be insanely more complicated than that, and would take unbelievable amounts of time to record every possible reaction, but hypothetically could it work?

this sounds so much more retarded now than last night when i thought of it, but i figured i'd post it anyway.

This isnt retarded at all. I remember seeing a documentation about dreams and brain activity while sleeping. They had some volunteers and put some wires/electrodes to their heads before they slept and later analyzed the brain activity, which was shown on a screen. When the person remembered their dream and could tell something about it the scientists where able to see how intense the dream was and how active the brain was working.I remeber in one case the scientist said to one propand "oh you had a exciting dream last night" or something like that and the person answered "yes, [...]" and then told his dream (I dont remember the dream though) It was really wierd but still very interesting. If you do it like you already said and analyze thousands of dreams you could develop a pattern and tell roughly what someone was dreaming and what feelings he had during his dream.
