not sure if its a repost, i searched, but god damn this was a great idea to make money. for those who dont know about it, its a site made where a guy sold each pixel out of a total of 1,000,000 pixels for #1 a pixel. the pixels were used for advertisements which contain links when scrolled over. the last 1,000 pixels went for $38,100 on ebay. probably has to be the easiest and best way to make a million dollars.

also for the people who know about this, anyone know if there have been mimics of this made? my engineering teacher wants to start up one of our own, sounds pretty interesting if possible.
 
damn good idea, but what a fucking waste of money for the people advertising on that shit

also a quick google search for almost any monetary value will return a webpage exactly like what you just posted, but not as successful
 
forgot to mention if me and my teacher started one, it would probably be for the benefit of the tech. ed. department of my school, thus hopefully giving me chances for some swell scholarships.
 
ya but you gotta make the site first and then have it be a popular enough site with enough visitors that people would actually be willing to pay $1 a pixel for ads
