not really dude. 1st off annopolis and west point are harder to get into than some of the most prestegious schools in the country. those guys are putting there life on the line for their country. thats courage...

its not really defence when they went over thier without reason to. and the only thing they did it wasnt even them it was a group of people that may or may not have been from the country, i cant remember weither or not they were from the country... like the al quida, and they said that osama bin ladin or however you would spell that that they dont know if he was or not, thier just guessingit was them. i'm not trying to be a total dick head trying to show you only my point of veiw like micheal moore did in ferinheight 9/11 but the thing is i dont support the war cause in my mind there was no cause for it, but i support the troop's cause they are dieng fighting for no reason, the biggest thing they are fighting for is to stay free while in the other contry rather than being captured, or blown up or whatever... but thats just my veiw
 
im going to west point next year and my friend is going to annapolis. we're doing it to serve our country and have the ability to be fuckin leaders. this douchbag just says shit to piss people off, he is obviously going nowhere in life. actually if i recall correctly, a while back he started pming out of no where trying to start shit and saying how much better he is.

We should just get rid of the militrary completly. Seriously, all they do it kill innocent people for oil. If we abolish our military than there wont be any more fighting. If the US abolished its military, then no one would want to hurt us anymore because we would be much nicer. Look at france, they have almost no military and they are doing great. They dont bother anybody, so no one bothers them.
 
wow i cant believe i even opened this therad cuz its gonna make me incredibly angry and im sure thats the point, but ill do it anyways. my brother was a 4.3 student in his senior year, set the current record for points in a boys basketball season at our high school, led the bball team to the pennsylvania state playoffs we lost 3rd round right before states, he was a baseball player aswell. he was recruited by three division 1 schools, but chose to go to west point instead because he wanted to support our country instead because that is what almost every man who is in our family has done. his future was set, pretty much guaranteed to go NBA if he wanted to. If not he could have gone to a greay school, gotten a great education, and could me making 100,000+ a year right now, but instead he is stationed in Iraq as a military police man dude. he wanted to serve the country, he didnt want to have to see our country fall because people like you think that the military is for lame-os. he is not one to be called a coward or lame or anything. he is a great person and chose to do what he wanted.
 
This thread actually needs to be deleted, you can't have a intelligent discussion if half the site is full of unintelligent people to young to even consider joining the military.
 
Well I hold soldiers in very high regard in the sense that they are definitely courageous, they are willing to fight for their country, and they believe in the cause and are doing something about it. However, I lose some respect for them because of the fact that they agree to follow blindly whatever the government/higher ups say is right, and that they are willing to kill for their country, which is completely different than dying for their country. I don't think I'll ever go into the military unless there is an overwhelmingly good cause, not because I'm a pussy, but because I don't want to sign away my right to decide who I kill.
 
you dumb fuck, if the US had no military then there prolly would be no US there would be nothing from stopping alquida from flying over and dropping the A bomb on the US , and france isnt a world super power. they have been quite peaceful since vietnam and they also dont prevent genocide in many different contries all over the world liek the US

fighting for your country is the most bullshit phrase in existance. All you are doing is being weak and taking orders like a little bitch. The only reason we are in Iraq is to secure a foothold in the Middle East. THis isnt something those soldiers want. Its something GW and his cronies want. They are all weak for doing exactly what the government wants, and not thinking for themselves. Why not solve the oil problem by putting all the funds spent on military into research. At a recent lecture i attended, the speaker gave a figure that paled in comparison to any of the major spendings going on. Its pretty obvious the military exists to secure the future of America's engery problem

Let me see if i've gotten what you said, if we didn't have a military, nobody would want to hurt us. Right? NO! Have you completely forgotten about sep. 11? And don't try to tell me that osama doesn't like us b/c of our military. That may be a contributing factor, but he hates the american way of life he hates democracy, and all wastern views. People would still be fighting if the US didn't have a military. What about th european holocaust? are you sayng that US intervention to stop Hitler was a bad move? If the US hadn't helped out the allies, Hitler may have won WW2, and many more people would surely have died.

I'm not justifing Iraq, merely saying that no military would be one of the stupidest ideas ever.

Hey, being 20, I am recruitable in the army and been registered and all that bull sh*t, but I am very much against the war, because there is no more war, except a war between Iraq inhabitants that are getting killed, and we sould not be there, flat out. This just aint no more our war. But there's.

And people in Iraq today and serving our country ARE, by the way, starting to CRITICIZE our government.

anyone hear that isnt for the war should still support the troops no matter wut.. them entering the army doesnt mean there gonna go over there.. and if they do u should still be supportive becuz people die everday and its terriable to go threw it so even if ur not for the war.. dont be D-bags about it
