Military Spending

Alright, I was just wondering. I just think it is odd given the fact that we, in America, are spoon-fed from birth the notion that communism and socialism are wrong, and the American way is always right.

Oh I agree. Don't you worry. I'm more pessimistic about humanity than the next guy. I'm sure people will be scrambling to buy up Lunar property soon enough. That doesn't mean I shouldn't support peace though.
 
Exactly. People are fucked but that doesn't mean I don't hope for the best. As much as I've seen plenty of ignorant and totally fucked up people, I've def seen a lot of the good in people.

 
i think peace is a good thing, but at the same time i feel that war is necessary, for global economy and stuff. thats just me though.
 
its kind of true, during world war 2 tons of jobs were created, both on the axis and the allies side, bigger military, more production needs and everything.
 
It's true that WWII helped expedite the United States escape from the depression, but that's not to say that no other method would have done the same thing.
 
thats true as well, I'm just saying that it can help on a worldwide factor. (also im guessing that it is the easiest to get in to as well)
 
We could also stimulate the economy by scaling back our government and government regulations. Allowing the free market to thrive once more. Also stop destroying the value of the USD would help too.

If the government stopped fucking everything up, we might actually be able to get things going again.

So do wars have an impact on economic growth? Ye, but that doesn't mean it's necessary to growth as your first comment stated.

Also that's just a fucked standpoint. These days a lot of the benefactors of war are defense contractors and individuals with special interests and things to gain.

Also it's great to send a bunch of people to die for resources or to create a reason to make shit back home so that you can pay the people to make shit.

At the same time, what the fuck are we doing around the world. It sure as fuck isn't about protecting us here in America.

By the way, where abouts exactly does the Constitution mention Federal taxing of the population indefinitely to fund unjust wars to the benefit of the investment class? I haven't managed to find that bit; Romney and Obama seem to think its in their somewhere...
