i heard they are actually recently reconsidering imposing the draft? what a bunch of fuckups this country is, if it happens viva la mexico

First of all it won't be called a draft because when you turn 18 in this country you sign up for something called "selective services" take a guess what that is? but if you're the only male in your family and a few other criteria you can get out. As far as I'm concerned if my country needs me I'm willing to go. Plenty of other people have died that could have lived fufilling lives, they died for our freedoms and the freedoms of others, besides I'm a pretty nasty shot

I agree with the guy that said if girls don't get drafted then they shouldn't get to vote... and it's probably true that if there was a draft, girls would be included. There won't be, though.

Also, I am a British citizen in addition to being an American citizen, and you know what that means...

There will be no draft! Does any remember when the draft was last talked about? It was last talked about in the months leading up to the election. Hmmm I wonder why? It was nothing more than a scare tactic being used by a few people to try and swing votes from Bush over to Kerry.

the reason that they dont draft women into the army is because it will cause to much of a distraction for the men. Also now if you flee to canada if the draft is passed they will send you back to america. College wont save you either.

 
you would not be able to go to canada because in 2001 theus and canada signed an agreement that if a draft was to occur americans who move to canada would not be able to get out. ... thats what i heard

The whole point of democracy is to give power to the people, so if the people don't agree with the war, thats when you overturn the government. The government is a tool to be used by the people, not a fucking machine taht controls your every movement. I understand security is our #1 issue, but how can you be secure if everyone from 18-25 is dead from fighting North Korea?

I'm not trying to say that there is a yes or no on the draft. I know from people for the last few years its been tossed in the air. The recruitment numbers are so low anymore because no one wants to join. My dad right now is short 30 soliders out of his company, and well he is in Iraq. Lots of people are like that right now and that is why it is aways brought up. Do I think there will be a draft. No, not anytime soon maybe if we go off to another country and fight but until then I wouldn't worry at all.
