there is no way you could clear a mountain like mammoth with only hand charges. much to dangerous and would take way to much time. its always nice to wake up to the guns going off at 6 in the morning

only 2 resorts, mammoth and i think alpine meadows??, were asked, because they have the newest model of howitzer, the 119, instead of the 104 or something like that. they are probally going to have older ones in place by the season though, that will do the job.

they were having trouble with the old models thats why they have the newer ones. a while ago a shell exploded in the barrel of a gun at alpine and killed around 6 patrollers manning the gun. last year 3 of those old guns blew up with the charge in the barrel at Mammoth, but no one was hurt becuase of the safety precautions that they take now. The new guns are safer. Fuck bush they can go make some more artillary if they need it.

the only way the government is going to get a-basins cannons is to come with a fucking platoon and take them, thats fucked up they are so desperate that the military is going to take the avalanche guns from resorts. that is going to fuck up all of the utah resorts

yeah taht would suck if they took the birds howitzer. it is cool to see when they are shooting it across the canyon. I'm sure that it won't be a problem though. if they took the birds howitzer, nobody in their right mind would ever ski up in little cottenwood. it is the most avalanch prone canyon in the us.
