Hey Mike,

Just curious if theres an age category for the up and coming

young gun open.

Matt,

no age limits, the only stipulation is that if you have any sort of

sponsorhip and you take first place at any of the four events, you're

obligated to give them up and take the sponsorships from siver, line,

scott and level.

I def wouldnt go with line. After your year is up, you are gonna be fucked, and not sponserd. Just look at there team now. Is it worth giving up another maybe more promising sponsership.

haha cosco is right. you can't break a contract, that is known as a breach of contract. you cannot be forced to drop sponsors for winning an event, i dont care if u are the president of the USA... this cannot be forced upon anybody

 
Then don't enter. They made the comp for unsponsored kids. If you have a serious contract, you're not supposed to be there anyway.

If it's a comp where the prize is sponsorship, why would the sponsored people come in and try to win?

the point is that yes, giving up your AM contract with some company for a full time contract may sound better, but like many ppl said, line's team is really struggling right now and more importantly, you look like a real asshole giving up your previously signed contract. its all about brand loyalty. the company that signed you as an AM prolly took a chance on you and you should stay loyal to the company that was the first one to help you out when these other companies wouldn't give you the time of day. as for the comp, if you don't wanna drop your sponsor, which i don't think anyone should, then you shouldn't enter. its a simple as that. this contest is a chance for an unsponsored kid who's got some skills but hasn't been found yet to get some sponsors.

 
its nto about the sponsors tho...its about being pre-qualified for every major event in the industry, thats WAY sicker then any 1 year contract with any company...I hope everyone falls and some 30 year old fat guy wins

Because Liberty is the only ski company to enjoy my presence and they are soooo nice to me. ^yeah flow isnt really a huge deal, winning this comp should definetly score the winner better hook ups then a mere flow sponsorship, nothing against flow riders, I am one my self but, it shouldnt be the emphasis

That is really, really good. I never thought of having them give up their contracts, and that's why I'm not Mike Nick. Good thinking.

If you enter a contest with a sponsor and a contract, you shouldnt enter a comp half based on more exposure, and the other half on getting sponsorships.

To Cosco and Ahmet, you guys are damn good, and most likely would have won. There are a ton of other comps for you to win, and get exposure from, just not this one.

Oh, and another thing, with exposure, more towards Ian and Ahmet, I can go online, to the site, and see a bio of you guys being on the team, thats exposure, thats a contract, thats you entering, winning, and defeating the purpose of a contract.

well im not sponsored but i do have to agree with the sponsored kids. the contracts should just be given to the next highest ranked kid who will take the contract. either way, itd go ot the same person if you think about it. plus, this isnt a sponsorship competition, its a major event qualification competition haha. when i first heard about it i was wondering why people cared if they could be in it if they were sponsored, then i realized the other half of it. awesome idea for a comp, poor definition of the rules.

Cosco, you should enter, and if you win dont except the sponsorship and just takes the registrations to the other events. They would give the sponsorship to the next best kid.
