Actually, I think he might have gone away for this winter to ski instruct. I'm not sure on that one though. Mike will fill us in when he reads this thread.

hey hey. yeah hemlock valley was fun. Went there to actually instruct I took a year off last year.

got there skiied 4 days, hill closed and I had pre-payed my rent. (to live on someones couch for the season) Then I got sucker punched in the side/back of the head for no reason- see Jay's "I hate white small town people". It Kept raining then got really dry and I was out of work but still going to the bar because it was the only thing to do; no TV, no internet. Then my roommate left, I had a room and started going hiking up the mountains and just hanging out with all the locals.

A while later my phone was cut off. It snowed for the previous few days before loosing the phone and was looking like there might be snow at the tail end of the season. there was water leaking in my house so I opened up a panel and saw a patch job on some pipes that had started leaking when it froze. the pipe blew up a few hours after finding it. The whole back room started filling up with water, no water shutoff in sight.. no phone. only one neighbour. So I ran to his house because he rents the condo upstairs and I thought he might know where it was. I shut the power down and still couldn't find it. I ended up just using an axe and a hammer to pinch off the pipe. There was about 4 inches of water in most of my kitchen and living room. Cleaned till 4 in the morning. The next day I found the water shutoff behind a poster that my roommate had hung up in the kitchen. FAAACK!

I had to do some janitorial work to get by but it was alright I guess. I went on some cool hikes and got some cool pictures, found some waterfalls and things that not too many people have seen. Went on a hike with an awesome waterfall that we later called tick river/falls.... the day after I found a tick on my ass. It was dead so burning it only burned hair off my cheek/hip. I had to rip it off and I think the head is still in...

It did snow eventually (after our closing date) so we hiked the hill in snowshoes and finally got some powder runs in.

overall... good season, If that's the worst the place has to offer then I can't wait for next season.
