Is it just me or is Mike Douglas's voice mad annoying when he comments on the X Games. And in Winter X Slopestyle on that Laurent Favre guy's run he said one of his spins was unnatural, but he spun that way every other time except for once.

They probably do script it, but you just have to watch the run to see it wasn't unnatural and that wasn't my main point, his voice is just annoying and twangy.

i think that all commentators should know what they are talkin about. at my mountain for comps they say snowboarding tridks like stiffy and im like 'what the hell'.but i think that mike d would know what he is talkin about

Yeah but I mean everyones got a different idea on what tricks are like no one can agree what a misty is or a bio vs corked. everyone has their own lingo or opinion

a lot of the espn guys dont know the tricks. tanner did an obvious corked 9 in slopestyle and the guy said it was a dspin 9. just try to zone them out.

i think douglas does a good job, atleast he actually knows whats hes talking about and hes knows the skiers style and stuff, unlike some of the random ppl they just grab and ask to commentate

 
yeah he is a lot better than josh lubek at the past years of he USFO, he callled a japan a phil grab and called a 900 a 1260

we had a slopestyle comp at the local hill. my friend did weak 360 and lincolned off of the side of the table, kind of nutting himself on the edge. anyways, to sum things up.. 'great run, garrett!'

i still laugh when i think of it.

you would be hard-pressed to find someone that does a better job. all the people that would be better would probably be competing. i think the x-games hires someone with senior status to commentate. but md does a good job.
