Anyone else almost more impressed by the way she handled herself during the last couple weeks compared to if she won a bunch of medals and dominated with ease?

Yeah, I get she sat on the side of the course and pouted for a bit, but at least she didn’t pull a bitch move like Ragettli did. The amount of pressure she had on her shoulders compared to that little pussy wasn’t even comparable, and she handled failing hard multiple times way better than he did.

Could have quit on her team, country, and herself like Simone Biles, but she didn’t. Instead she did interviews after every mistake and carried herself like a boss. Took blame for everything and spoke it like it was by saying, “I feel like a big joke.”

I mean the way she skied was a joke and she knows it, but the way she handled herself and acted with the weight of a country on her back was the exact opposite.

Shes a boss ass bitch in my opinion.
 
Totally agree, Watching her interview after Combined last night I was definitely impressed by her composure. Not many people would be able to handle themselves after crashing with so much pressure on them.

Mikaela is the fuckin goat and she will be back in 4 years to snag some more medals
 
Simone didn’t quit on shit, but it was wack how the media manufactured it into some “mental health crisis” when it was actually just vertigo from gymnastics.

I dunno how much thruth is here, but I heard somewhere that after shiffrins first two DNFs biles reached out to her and the "advice" she gave shiffrin was to basically back out from the rest of competition like biles did. Shiffrin pretty much laughed it off and hung up. I'm with OP on the biles quitting thing, lame move. Shiffrin could have easily manufactured some sort of "mental health crisis" but instead just sucked it up and went for it like somebody with backbone. Even bigger fan of shiffrin after these games than I was before.

Maybe it's worth noting that Biles is much younger and possibly less mature? Shiffrin also has been in the world's eyes for longer and probably better knows how to publically act. Idk
 
Honestly though if you have the mental strength to get to the Olympics you 100% have the strength to get through whatever is going on, it meant too much to mikaela to pull a biles, who had already won so much that it was no big deal

What Simone Biles was going thru was very much a legitimate medical issue that affects tons of gymnasts and aerialists. I agree that it sucks the media turned it into a 'mental health' narrative, but Simone literally had interviews after the Olympics where she said "I knew what I was doing was super dangerous, and I probably shouldn't have gone at all, but wanted to represent my country and make my friends/family/team/coaches proud"

Both of these girls have handled more pressure than any of us will ever fucking know. I guess that doesn't fit the narrative of Simone being a lazy quitter tho.

Yeah I’m not saying what she actually did was bad, but the news twisted it so much I had no idea what actually happened until not too long ago
 
i think the whole "weight of their entire nation weighing on their shoulders" narrative is a bit blown out of proportion nowadays lol

Why the fuck did this turn into a Simone Biles hate thread? The issue she had is super common with gymnasts and really not a big deal. She was getting corked when gymnastics flips and spins are obviously on axis. Y’all are retarded to think Simone was a “quitter” or whatever

If she was ahead of Vonn at the same stage in their careers before the Olympics she might not be anymore.

Has Vlhova taken the crown from her permanently as best at Slalom? They are the same age. Shiffren isn't interested really in Super G or Downhill.
