Haven’t had snowmaking temps in like a week and half, maybe 2 weeks now I think. Buttloads of rain with more coming and above freezing temps for the next week it looks like.

Can’t remember the last time we had a season looking this dire in January.

west coast blow your cold air over here pls I’m dying

RIP here lies midwest ski season 2018-2019 ?

I’m in MN and it rained a few days ago and has been like -5 since the snow is trashed

I’d kill to be hitting patches of ice rn instead of patches of mud

slush is definitely more fun than ice though. Just not muddy slush ☹️

Im in Mn and i was shredding like 26 inches of fresh pow a couple days ago up at Lutsen. Sorry to flex.

Aye I was in Lutsen right before the storm hit, left just before it, still a fun place though even with no park in yet

The park at lutsen is hardly worth skiing even if it is up.

Y I K E S.

cant believe you guys have it worse that far north. I’m near Cincinnati and it boggles my mind that it hasn’t been colder for you guys.

We do have better weather than you by a bit but we have no snow because management was too fucking cheap to turn on the guns around thanksgiving, and then we literally never got those temps again. We won’t get a good park up until feb at this rate, and then they will look to close early March because they’ve lost so much this year.

The whole season is a wash. I’m injured anyways. Bah humbug

Going to Iowa next week. Thank god it's not going to be freezing. Suck to be you guys though.

MIDWEST GANG IS FR DYING RIGHT NOW my home mtn isn't even open yet so I've been driving elsewhere but we're really dying man I'm so depressed

Where are you? Georgia?

No not in the US. Near small French hills. There's just enough snow every year to get you hooked to skiing, but not enough to satisfy your craving.

Kinda same ordeal here in PA. Rain. Rain. Rain. Temps aren’t that bad. Just rain. A lot of it. No skis and it’s not gonna snow anytime soon for next couple weeks I think. Just another washed winter.

The west coast calls my name louder and louder each year.

Currently doing my annual thought exercise of browsing Indeed jobs in Utah and Colorado...

I can't remember the last time that we haven't had snow on the ground by this date in NE Ohio. Driving up to Jay Friday cuz fuck fuckiddy fuck this weather down here...

My drifter pass to peak resorts is looking pretty useless rn.

I grabbed some data from NOAA and made a quick graph because I wanted to see if my memory was bad or if this year truly is ridiculously bad.

Now I’m sad.

It’s a really bad year but it’s also not the worst. I think it’s all the damn rain killing us. Photos I have from 2011 seem to closely resemble what I’m seeing at my hill in terms of coverage, but I’m pretty sure they had the whole place open at that time, just thinly covered. We only have like 30% of the area open right now as is. It’s definitely a lot worse.

2015 seems to be the worst we’ve had in a long time, but I don’t remember it being terrible. Maybe it rained less.

Also fuck global warming

Shout out to The Rock in Wisconsin for blowing snow in between raindrops. After another big night of making Tuesday night, the conditions were actually solid yesterday. There's hope!!

Heres the southwest mi rumor report. Bittersweet is surviving, made snow two nights ago and christmas eve, 80% open and it should turn into a average year. Managment has been good about turning guns on every chance since first week of November. Timber Ridge might, juat might open this year but their shitty managment tied with their shitty finacial situation might not make it happen. Swiss Valley it just about in the same situation.

For real, I wasn’t even going to bother getting a pass this year then Peak bought snotime so I got a drifter. Used it once so far.

On a lighter note the surfing in New Jersey has been exceptional the last few weeks.

luckily Minnesota has been fairly decent, the cities havent gotten a lot of snow but its been cold enough to make a fair amount. Duluth really got dumped on the other week tho jealous
