So my friend and I (mostly my friend) are wanting and looking to get sponsored. We don't have any shops near us and there isn't many comps near us either (we went to 2 this year 1 being 5 hours away). So we were wondering how all you got hooked up? Were you approached, or did you send in vids and/or pics and how do you go about sending in vids? Do you just e-mail the company or shop. Also we are aware that we're probably not going to get hooked up this year and we do ski to have fun, we're just "poor". haha thanks midwest! :)

try sending clips and a letter to ski shops, i know some guys that did that and that's a good enough ride for them

meet as many people as possible in the industry, especially company reps and store owners. The ski instructors and race coaches at your hill are most likely reps and can definately help you if you approach them in the right way.

the prob is my hill is so small and ghetto that we dont have any reps or anything. but i will probably send clips and a letter to ski shops, but should it be hand written or e-mail?

THANKS! that really makes sense! ha thanks for givin my the low down 10/10! i probably will take you up on your offer in the future but this is great for now :) Im Stoked!

Don't worry about getting sponsored. Ski everyday and improve. Ski for yourself and have fun. The best skiers didn't worry about getting sponsored the companies found them.

hey allen how can i go about getting sponsorship with ski hut? or is there even room on the team? beause that's the closest shop to me and i think it'd be tight to be apart of the ski hut "family". should i just e-mail them or stop in sometime?

just have fun and shred. going for sponsors is a good idea. I just had fun and wanted to progress. I got asked to be on a wisconsin k2 team (claim) but I was moving to murderapolis for college and couldnt be on it. I think if you do well skiing then they can come to you. But being proactive is always nice.

What i did was typed up a short page with my name number and compitition results and went into Ski hut and gave it to Poter, the owner. it also helps to know the staff of the shop you want to get on.
