Just thought I would throw this out there and see how many people were in the area. It seems that we have some pretty big names that came out MI. GT, Gordy, Boyd Eisly, and more. So if your from the midwest post a message. If not post anyway because we all ride.

I wouldnt think so since the Northwest has a hell of a lot more places to ski, and it gets a lot more publicity out there but the Midwest still has peopl that can rip shit up.

ya midwest does have it's decent areas but it is hard to get as good here because our terrain isn't near the same as out west or east (or way south west). There are a bunch of us on here though. Kami when did you move to Michigan, I thought I remember you living up in canada. probably will be seeing you around this winter a few times.

 
yea, i've been skiing in michigan my whole life now...its pretty fun. I really like the northern lower scene...guys like jon cyrulik and wes d are making a great impact on the perception of freestyle skiing across the state. Our motto has always been ski for fun...and we live up to it. we put on demos for kids and try to get everyone involved. recently we have gotten a lot of respect from the locals and tourists. its pretty exciting. hey kamikazi, if you want to ski this year at some insane spots let me know....

Summer sucks here. Mountain biking is pretty good, and if you live on a lake or have a budy who does you can make a bootleg water ramp.

 
Hey Tyson me and one of my friends are moving up to Duluth on aug 31st for school. We got a 2 br apartment on campus. Its going to be so ill this winter living like 5 min from a ski area. So yeah Spirit Mt. Duluth, MN right here!!!

mn_skier, spirit mt is gonna be pretty sick this year. I'm going to be up there quite a bit as well gettign ready for MS03 this winter (feb 22-23, you should enter). So Check out midwestskier and I'm goign to be posting where and when I go places. Would be rad to get a crew going up there to ride with.

Also what are you going to study at umd (it's umd that your going to right?)?

 
yeah paul i was up there for ms02 and i gotta say you fuckin rock. that event was so dope. I heard that the park is supposed to be expanded again this year. I am giddy like a little schoolgirl for this season. I am going to UMD for premed.

Prins, I moved from Idaho to Michigan this spring.

I should be riding at Crystal and Boyne a lot this winter, and maybe making a trip downstate to check out K-Zoo or other places. Scott, I might just take you up on that offer.

right on kami (I don't abrev. it because it sounds better, but rather because I would probably spell it wrong if i write it all the way out), MI is a pretty rad state, things have really been picking up there lately. Bonye goes off during the winter too.

As for MS03, All of you guys reading this better get your ass's there. It could be the last MidwestSkier event in the midwest if I can't sell the event after this season (will be hard to deal with through college but I'm making plans so it will stil happen). I'm pulling out all the stops this winter, everything will go off here if I have anything to say about it.

MN_skier, and anyone else, if you have any suggestions for this years event please let me know. Anything far fetched that you would like to see, or anything that you would like to see changed.

TT that would be sick if you could hook me up with that. I have a few companies i still need to get contracts signed with for the event before any major press releases but I would definatly be stoked if you coudl send them out.

 
I wish i lived anywhere west... north, south, middle, whatever. I could only dream of skiing on a real mountain, instead of the sad excuses for hills we have up in my area. Ontario Canada, nor-west region on the lake. Our season is short and dry, but with a shovel, and some balls we make do. Nothing like sliding stolen benches and hittin' home made kickers.

big Will, when you tip a cow they really don't do much, just fall over. It's kind of excited because they are so big and it takes a good amount of effort to get one over. Then it falls, can hurt the cow so you don't normaly do it to your own (if you own any at all. most of us don't). Then the cow takes a while to get back up and most of the time someone needs to help her out.

not really that exciting living here. But we make due like everyone said.

 
i live in duluth, and we got quite a bit to do. we gotta good beach, but its only open about 3 months outta the year. i love livin in duluth.

I'm just going to say this, other people can dissagree with me all they want though. The midwest boys who compete every weekend are one of the closest nit communities in skiing. I haven't heard of a regon with more events and people going to them as much as we do here. So for all the boys and girls out there that compete, props to you.

hey kamikazi..yea definitely, i have been scoping a lot of stuff out lately. I'll have a pass at boyne mountain and boyne highlands so let me know what your plans are this winter..since i'm going to nmu in marquette (the the fuck up in the u.p) skiing at my home resort everyweekend might be hard but i'll be coming down a lot.

Where the hell did all the Indiana boys go..? Southern Indiana is the place to be!! Check out Perfect North Slopes. Although it doesn't sound like much it's arguably one of the largest finest ski resorts in the midwest!

I dont know how much free shit you gave away last year because i didnt stay for the after party but you should have like a raffle or drawing. I know you dont have the funds to be giving away free skis or anything but maybe the sponsors have some stuff they could throw in. Other than that i thought last years event was awesome.

It would be cool to see like a rail comp. I dont know much about comps so take my advice how you please.
