Midwest shades?

looking into buying some. they're cheap and look pretty good. anyone have them? how are the lenses and quality? how do they compare to knockarounds?

Go for it. Just as good of quality as knockarounds if not a little bit better. My friend lives next to the guy who owns the Co. and has done nothing but rave about how awesome he is and how sick the glasses are

well i don't have money to spend on expensive brand name sunglasses. i don't put my shades to any real abuse, i just wear them around town in the summer. they have uv 400 protection. i know they won't protect from impact like oakley lenses, but i'm not going to need them to do that. could you tell me exactly why my eyes will thank me later? any specific reason?

actually yeah, the optical clarity of superior brands such as ray ban or maui jim, allow your eyes to relax better when focusing on object. Resulting in less eye strain, which in the long run will have a non damaging effect on your eyes.

so basically it's all around just better for your eyes.

and that whole concept of UV 400 protection is bull shit, it's either 100% uva/uvb or it's shit.

my personal favorites as of late have been shwood sunglasses

frames made out of wood, excellent lens quality.

i'm not a huge oakley fan, they're lenses in reality aren't all that great, and you can actually rub the UV filter right off, it's all about sandwich lens construction which you can find in ray ban, maui jim, shwood, etc.

ok thank you that is helpful. i really would buy more expensive sunglasses, but i have no money to spend on them and i don't trust myself with expensive shades. the last pair of glasses i had snapped at the hinge, so i want some that i can not worry about breaking.

i actually fully understand the upfront expense, i was fortunate enough that i used to work at a shop that carried all sorts of sunglass brands so i got hooked up. but seriously anything with a carl zeiss lens in them is worth dropping some cash on.

i'll see if i can find some deals around. i'm usually pretty good at finding good stuff for cheap. thanks for the help. +k will be given

ashbury's sunglasses are a good place to start, they run from 60 to 80 which is a decent deal
