What are the best midwest resorts around the midwest. I live in Northeastern Ohio and I want a place with a sweet park and decent hill thats only 5-6 maybe 7 hours away. Want to know for my family's next winter vacation. so help?
yeah so because im bored.. i just looked at google maps and youre looking at 10+ hours to VT and 6 to MI (ive skied at Boyne and its not the worst place in the world, they have a indoor water park too for after skiing is done.. )
the most underated park in the midwest where no one really rides is a place called chestnut mountain in gelena, illinois. they have 2 pipes with a rope tow and a shit ton of sick rails and jumps.
Perfect North, I know it'll sound biased coming from me as I work on Park Crew, but we were voted best park in the Midwest last season, we spend countless hours making the park the best we possibly can and while we might not have the biggest park, we try our best to make the best of the space we do have. I'd really recommend checking it out. Hell, I'll hook you up with free lift tickets if you want.
Perfect North is sick! I live in Wisconsin and have made the 7-8 hour trip 3 times now and I've never been let down. The park is always bangin' and the people there are super chill.
I ski Utah like 110 days a year, and i'm still most psyched about going home to PNS for Christmas break every year. such a fun place to get your shred on.
this. or i think i read someone talking about chestnut. it's super underrated but they do have two pipes and a shit ton of park features for a midwest hill. and they have the run warpath haha
yea it is, me and my friends went there for like a 3 day trip, and it snowed non stop one night and morning so we had to stay an extra day, im talking like 8 +inches of pow.
dude i live in NE ohio and me and my friends made the trip to mount snow in just under 8 hours. so worth it! of course we did work at mills and got free lift tickets the whole week and the grand summit hotel for 4 people at 40 dollars a night....def going again this year. maybe spent 100 dollars for a week of skiing! great park!!!! killer park! but i mean every park is a step up from brandywine's park. At least last years....
well i grew up skiing in these parts before moving west. Here are my favorites in no order. Cascde, Chestnut, IndidanHead, Marquette, Bohemia... Grew up skiing Wilmot, Alpine, Geneva, Switz,Sunburst...etc.
Marquette Mountain for MI, Spirit Mtn. / Hyland for MN, but for some real sick lake effect snow Mt. Bodreamia haha way up in da kee, copper country guy
I'd say Granite Peak is the best I've skied in the midwest - pretty straight jump line & a pretty good park setup...plus they've got some decent runs too (for the mw). Chestnut is probably second.
yea i ski chestnut as my home hill. its pretty nice for the midwest the park is tight and we have some sick ass features. I went to colorado last year and the jumps at chestnut were only about 5 to 10 feet smaller. most of the ski patrol and lifties don't care.ANd the locals are all super chill and will show you around. they kinda stopped making the pipes but for about a month they have a pipe up but the pipe is kinda nice if you get there when it first opens. i guess it just costed them to much money to make it.
