Microphone for Recording a Concert?

I was just hired to film concerts at the local Park City concert series. It's nothing too serious but I would like to make it decent quality. I have a Canon HV30 and was considering getting a Rode VideoMic Pro here pretty soon so I was wondering if that would do the job or if there is a better option. Obviously I don't want to break the bank because this job doesn't pay a whole lot (I'm just stoked to get paid to watch some good performances). My brother also has a mixer and lots of other music accessories (being a DJ) and offered to help out a little if that helps. I've never been huge on audio so could use some help quick because first concert is in two days and I need to get everything figured out.Tons of +K of course,

well the obvious key is to get the recording close to the subject, would you be filming from far away or close? Would you be down to put a recorder on the talent? or on the stage? etc..
 
I hear a lot of people like the Rode NTG-2. Its right around your price range. I personally dont have to much experience with mics, but I do love my simple rode video mic with AGC hack. fulfills my needs at the moment.

Also, do you want your sound to to directly into the camera or do you want to sync it with an external recorder such as the Zoom H1 or H4?
 
external recorded plugged into the sound board if you can, they should have xlr outputs.
 
Well I have two cameras so I was going to just have one at whatever distance is best for recording and just be a still shot and the other i'm going to move around with (not taking any audio from) and get other angles.
 
Get yourself a recorder and like someone said, plug it in the soundboard. Best way to get quality audio. Get whatever shot you want and don't worry about sound.
 
I would say just get a recorder and plug it into the soundboard. You will get WAY better audio anyways. Unless you need the sound of people screaming because they're stoked, but you could just cheat and take a sample of a crowd from somewhere else for that.
 
Could anyone show me a good link of a decent one I could buy? I'm sure I could figure it out after that, I'm just not exactly sure what to look for in one of these. Thanks!
 
You can't go wrong with the Zooms. We had those at school and the sound that comes out from it is pretty decent!
 
Not sure if you have actual experience with that, because I have the NTG2 and DR100 and have serious level issues, in fact I have to buy a preamp soon because I can barely pick up any sound unless the mic is
