Microfracture Surgery

So I went in for surgery on Friday, hoping to have my miniscus fixed up, and came out having Microfracture surgery (Microfracture is where they remove broken cartilage and then cut small holes in the bone to regenerate new cartilage). It's not a painful surgery, but the rehab is a bitch. No weight bearing for 2 months and can take as long as a year til i'm 100 percent. So I'm totally depressed.

Anyone have this surgery and if so, any tips on helping recovery? Oh, and I remember a ski video and I think it was Sarah Burke, but I could be wrong, where she swore by eating chicken bones to help heal cartilage. Anyone remember that?

Im sure there are lots of things you could eat to promote the growth of new cartilage. Sounds like a cool idea actually...just remember to take the physio seriously and I know you'll be back mentally and psychically to 100% in way less time :)
