Microdosing psilocybin while skiing

First off - be careful with any and all psychedelics. Do your research before taking any. They are sort of illegal in some places, much more illegal in others. Know where you are and what risks you are willing to take.

Has anyone else done this? I've experimented a few times with higher doses and find it doesn't usually go too well. One time I ended up laying in the woods for two hours, which was nice, but I wanted to be skiing. But just the right amount, for me its .25 - .5 grams, I find it really nice. I've experienced less fear of crashing, greater levels of confidence, creativity in trick choice, more connectedness to the mountains, and heightened levels of balance. Also I feel closer and more able to connect with others around me and those I'm skiing with.

Phil Casabon talks about this in his podcast on The Powell Movement and says some similar things about the benefits they bring him.

I make sure to not take them everytime, addiction is no joke. But the cool thing is the effects seem to last a while so you don't need to take them everytime. For example I was sliding sticky rails one night while dosed up and was having a real hard time. Then it sort of clicked to me my body position was wrong so I adjusted my whole stance and position on the rail and felt 100x more comfortable. This was 4 years ago and I still feel confident on sticky rails.

Anyone else do this? What are your experiences? Let's keep this skiing specific, not just general psychedelic exoeriences.
 
Shrooms always make me puke no matter how small the dose is and they throw off my balance just walking.

Ive done just about every drug while skiing and I have to say, acid is definitely the best. I can drop a few tabs and go ski really well. Only problem I encounter is that I just get thirsty as fuck and then get distracted by the ski lodge interior when I go in for water.
 
one of the greatest experiences on earth, a couple of days ago my homie took 5g and got lost on a groomer. I usually never take more than .8 if I know I am going to be skiing and trying flips/tricks.
 
It increases visual acuity, better co ordination. You feel connected, shit's bomb. Would recommend.

But my weapon of choice is LSD, I'm a freak on that stuff. Can take 600 mics and still slay.
 
Definitely had some great times munching small amounts of mushies over the course of a day in the backcountry with some buddies. It really helps me to visualize a run and process a line before dropping in, and it changes the group dynamic in an interesting way. Good, deep conversations about risk tolerance and when to we feel comfortable to bail have come up, and that level of honesty is important with partners on more serious terrain. I also get super stoked, like straight up euphoric after skiing a line or seeing a buddy slashin turns. It does make it a bit harder to keep all the potential risks in mind (avy conditions, considerations of aspect and timing, etc.) so I try to avoid microdosing on all but the most green light kind of days. But even then you have to remind yourself to be aware of the conditions.
 
I've wanted to try, still sketched about getting hurt because I wasn't as focused. I have a friend who accidentally dove into 3 ft deep water while on shrooms and had to go to the ER while peaking. stuff like that makes me paranoid.
 
One of my buds when I lived in CO would always microdose acid while we did shuttle laps, he would have the time of his life, sometimes he would take a dose too big and think he was a snow eagle

This is the worse when you microdose to study/replace coffee and you start getting visuals in the middle of a lecture lmao
 
I kinda feel like everyone in this thread is way over hyping shrooms. I’ve done it and had a good time but I don’t think they made me ski any better
 
Micro-dose means you shouldn't feel much of anything. Soooo.

Micro-dosing is for medicinal benefit because it increases neurogenesis.
 
Pretty sure I’ve told this story before but my first time dropping acid was on the lift on a beautiful bluebird day skiing some upper bowls down into the trees, just vibing to some Pink Floyd. Honestly the tab was pretty weak but it was enough to get that nice serotonin rush that makes you think “damn, this shits beautiful, life is amazing.”

11/10 would do again. Definitely a micro tho, I’m not tryna have an ego death or temporary psychosis on the mountain. Gotta save that stuff for home.

I’ve done it about 40 times, very fun but socializing could get weird. I did it one day @brighton hiking tubes and i think it gave me crackhead vibes

Lol 100 percent been there geeking on the slopes like inadvertently creeping on a group just thinking it wasn’t weird at all to join their conversation at the top of the chairlift. Didn’t ruin my day at all but Kind of unmistakable to spot someone tripping balls so just don’t talk to strangers and have a few beers to keep it mellow.
 
I think I may have missed my best opportunities to trip while skiing when I was in college and a 10 minute bike ride from the bus stop and had ski buddies to watch my back and provide some mental grounding. But hopefully can make it happen next season, assuming I'll be able to ride the bus and actually go skiing without the hassle of reservations and social distancing etc.

Yeah this is probably true, they just make you feel like your skiing better

You are right I guess but I understood what he meant anyway. I think there is a big difference between popping a couple cyan

caps or whatever and like slugging a whole 1/8th of cubensis at once. On the one hand you are going to be like yay tripping and skiing is fun versus like being too scared to get on the chairlift lol
