Any of ya'll from Ann Arbor? I'm thinking seriously about going to school at University of Michigan. How's the town and shit? I come from the outer reaches of a 500,000+ metro area skiing at a hill with 8 trails, no park and 500 vert, so I'm not expecting much. One BIG question is: will I HAVE to have a car to get around? I'm thinking yes, but I thought I'd ask one of you. Thanks for any info ya'll can provide.

ann arbor is pretty cool town, small town atmosphere with plenty of people, campus is kinda spread out but not horribly, driving in ann arbor is a pain in the ass but to go anywhere outside liek to a ski hill you WILL need a car, Mt brighton is prolly a half hour away and it is slightly bigger than a hill with 8 trails not a whole lot though, they have a pretty decent park there.

 
my girl friend goes to uofm. cool town. there are a lot of rail that could be done. if any one lives around there and wants to do some rail this winter let me know

 
My buddy is a frosh there right now, and hes thinking about transfering up here just for skiing. Brighton sucks.

Brighton is the shit, you just dont know it. It is a great skiing atmosphere, the boarders are exceptionally nice to skiers. Lift tickets are a great price at $27.

 
I've lived in ann arbor for about 14 years. If you want to ski you will have to have a car. The town rules, small town with big town clubs. The partying scene however is nothing like state. The u of m parties are fun, state parties make the news the next morning. as far as school work u of m is probably better than state. But in the long run it's not what school you go to it's what you do with the schooling you received.

2 parks dammit 2 parks. well sorta. its all boarders basiclly. jackass 12 year olds, but it is still fun as hell but not if you live in ann arbor. its just not worth it at all. like get a car and drive a few hrs. there are alot better choices. mostly locals and for people that live close by. because its just weak, park and pipe arent bad though. better than fagass alpine valley MI.
