I'm going to wait for someone to give me a different and better theory on why Americans kill so many people with guns. Until then, I'll go with Moore's theory.

 
i'm not sure if this has already been posted...but this is my theory on the gun-violence in america:

america is a country of power. They maintain their power, by making others submissive of themselves. A typical person wants power, as it is human nature. These people can obtain power from putting an individual in a defensive situation, hence, using violence as a means. Everyday in the american society, people are faced with situations, where their power is threatened (media, workplace, walking down the street), their social standing is threatened when they see someone as a threat. They know that guns are a way of putting someone under themselves, because it leaves the person scared, and in fear.

I don't think many other countries desire power as much. They've accepted that they can use intellect and money as a means of power, and don't feel the need to resort to violence as a means of social advancement.

the parties were somewhat flipped back then. democrats ruled the south, republicans the north. this gradually changed in the mid-20th century. now the democrats are more popular in the north, while the republicans control the red neck inbred bible belt south.

do you believe everything you're told?? the purpose of Moore's documentary was to raise concerns for gun control, not to tell the entire truth. Just saying 'these people died, this is how someone reacted to it' doesn't do shit, he wants to raise concerns that these are still happening. That's what a good artist does, he make you think about what you just watched, not just tell you what happened, but makes you question WHY it happened.

I think alot of you people should watch the European news. I was watching BBC today and they were interveiwing American soldiers. They interviewed a ton of guys about Rumsfeld. They were saying shit like he should resign, and how they really thought he made some bad moves. These are the guys representing our country in Iraq. I don't know what im trying to say, im just sort of rambling.. but yeah....
