Alright I wanna hear it, why does everyone hate Michael Moore, i mean sure he's a dick but he's trying show the truth, so why the hate?
 
He shows the truth, and then exaggerates the stupidest shit. I Don't like Bush, but I had Moore just as much. I DON'T need somebody telling me to hate Bush by showing 5 minutes in a movie of Bush reading a book to a kindergarten class. He's just an unnecessary slander queen.
 
he's an extremity. people may disagree with bush politics, but they don't go to the levels he does.
 
i don't necessarily agree with the Bush admin. on most topics, nor do I agree with much of the Clinton administration. but people like michael moore exaggerate things, and make up shit, which is fucking stupid. He has more little kids like yourself so convinced that he is right by just making assumptions, incorrect facts, blatantly lying, and exaggeration. Idk what your definition of truth is but I don't see him as just "trying to show the truth"
 
The thing is your one of the many Americans who are afraid to understand the problems with politics today. If there is the slightest bit of a scandal is Canada everyone and his brother are talking about it for a long time but in America your told to cover up your eyes and ears and go on with your daily lives.
 
and you think the government tells you truthfully what exactly is going on in the World and why? you think that the government doesn't hide global news and issues from you? Personally I think that the government tells us in-correct facts , in which case we make assumptions while they are blatantly lying and exaggerating to us.
 
i dont mean to sound like a hardcore nationalist, but he is so negative about everything...i never said there werent problems with the US, its just that he is so ridiculously critical of all problems, yet never offers a solution, only criticisms....and hes a fat fucker
 
Aha, I don't think that Michael Moore is extreme by any means. Also he has very little intellect and has no degrees to back it up. Does somebody want to give me a movie/book deal? I probably have even more academic merit then Moore because I'm in university!

Want to read something insightful? Go read an academic paper by a scholar. Way more interesting and they don't make shit up.
 
i'd say he's more of an anti-social or antihero person, always trying to prove the opposite of the general thought. I like some of what he says, a lot of it is researched and has facts, but not everything because it's exagerated sometimes, and honestly, I find it gets old after a while...
 
You guys are all basing your opinions pretty much on bowling for columbine and fahrenheit 9-11. Now, if I just based my opinion on his recent work I would think he is a dickhead loser too, but his earlier stuff is much better. The Big One is great because he doesnt single out a political party or leader, he goes after CEOs who are laying people off to move to places where they can get cheap labor. Its quite entertaining
 
Roger and Me was a joke too. Going to this dudes house and just randomly showing up and expecting to get an interview? wtf is that. the dude was still in his bathrobe. I wouldn't want to be bothered while still in my robe either.

The way he took things out of context in that flick was ridiculous too. I havent seen a single thing from him that I really liked, or even thought was somewhat legit. Anyone can do what he does.
 
we're not told to cover up our ears and eyes because we are never given the information that would even cause us to cover them. if we hear it and people disagree with it, stuff happens, they dont ignore it
 
I wouldn't say that.

I think he is exact opposite in political beliefs, but the extreme exaggerations, and blatant lies/incorrect facts on Moore's part are much worse.

Granted Bush is an idiot and has done his fairshare of this, or more so his administration, he doesn't even come close to moore.
 
i hate that fat pice of shit! he cant just keep his problems to himself, he needs to find a way to blame things that happen on other people. He tells 10% of truths in ferinhieght 9/11, and then the rest of it he blows everything way out of proportion and bitches throughout the whole movie, i hope he dies making his next gay movie.
 
Did you not fucking read my post. I said Bush has done his fair share, but I don't think that he even comes close to Moore.

On a sidenote, you want to get off moore's nuts? seriously kid, you sound pretty fucking brainwashed, I think you have just been spoonfed a lot of shit.
 
Its a pretty close call I would say. I havent heard bush or moore say many truly honest things. I would say that bush is worse because his lies actually affect people.
 
Because instead of making an eloquent intelligent argument, Michael Moore manipulates peoples emotions to convince them of his points. Plus hes a fat bastard who's body could feed Ethiopia for eight years.
 
It's no secret to many of you that I really hate Moore. Here's why.

1) He is a moron with an education of a dime-a-dozen highschool fuck up. Another shining example of an "artist" that got lucky.

2) He plays on emotions rather than an actual issue. It's that destructive instead of constructive thinking. What does that accomplish? Nothing...except his own paycheck.

3) He goes out of his way to assume, skew, distort, and even flat out lie at the expense of other people. Regardless if you even somehow agree him, that alone shows he's a first class deuchebag.

4) He makes a huge profit off of that deuchebagery. Further proving is deuchebagerdness.

5) His actually political savvy...NO ONE with any real political knowledge whatsoever agrees with this guy. That should be a pretty good indication that he really doesn't know what he's talking about.

The people who support him are generally cynical highschool kids without a clue. That speaks for itself more than anything. I just love when people try to cover Moore's ass by saying "He is lying for a good cause" or "Oh, like *insert random government official, politician, or CEO here* hasn't lied or distorted facts before." Great...so how the fuck does that make Moore himself any more valid? It doesn't, it just takes away from the actual issue by pinning a problem on something else. Congratulations, Moore has you eating out of his hand.

The problem is that most viewers do not have the ability to distill the important aspects of Moore's work. They get hung up on picking apart his weaker aspects and focus on that and ignore the hard truths he exposes...

example - in B.F.C. the big picture is the hypocrisy of our so-called right to- life christian fundementalist government selling out to gun groups while supporting a violent agressive global/foriegn policy - this is a real concern and derserved to be openly discussed - instead right wing nut jobs (like Rush) who are no better than Moore, spend their whole day ranting about his spin and misuse of facts...

To ignore the bigger truths due to partisian bullshit rhetoric is worse than actually listening to what this fat guy has to say.....judge for yourself, don't play that ignorant con vs lib game here
 
yeah, I'm still confused on that one... When did I ever say that I thought lying effected us less that Moore? yeah i didn't.
 
Except that he doesn't have anything to say. All the crap he "uncovers" is just repeated from other people...after it's tweaked to meet his stamp of approval that is.

well he did get people talking. even if what he said might have been exaggerated a lot, he was the first person to get so many people questioning the government after 911, which is really the basis for democracy.
 
you know, im not so fond of moore myself but hey, hes one of the only guys sticking up for the other half of the country, you have tucker and coltier and we have moore and maybe a few others but come on, who gets more airtime on fox?

Because Moore is counter-productive and detramental to society. Sure its great that he got people thinking and questioning the government but he did it in the worst possible way. He instilled fear and beleif in conspiracy that just turns the public mad. If he really wanted to have an intelligent discussion about the falures of the government he would have simply presented cold truth, not a movie littered with insinuation.
 
With a president who has stated that "you are either with us or against us" it is no wonder why someone like moore stirs so much debate

My question/point is this - In F9/11 He makes some pretty damm incrimitating statements about Bush/s saudi relationships and pre/post 9/11 events - is it wrong to look into these? or are we "traitors" if we try to look beyond bullshit propoaganda

more so than the leader of our country? the president also instilled fear in the people ("since september the 11th..." "we have to fight them over there so we don't fight them here" "weapons of mass destruction" etc.) that turned much of the public crazy and led the country to war. i say that is much worse than some slander and questioning the government.
 
Look comparing the lesser of two evils is not an effective argument. If you hate Bush and his administration, thats totally fine, its your right as an American. But, to commit the same crimes of falsification on the other side of the isle weakens your counterpoint. If Moore hadnt run off making bombastic claims then maybe his message would have been met with careful consideration rather than political recoil F 911 caused.
