MHSSC

I am thinking about going to mhssc this summer. I was wandering, how are the facilities (looked kinda sketchy on the website), how does it compare to momentum/COC/Windells and how does the camper staff/coach in training program work?

If anyone has been to any of these camps how much did you improve and how much fun did you have

mhssc is a really good opportunity if you have the money. Even though its cheaper than other camps thats because it isnt ran by pro coaches who dont really teach as much from what i heard. The coaches at mhssc are real chill dudes that can help you with alot. People bitch on here about the trampoline, but they have an olympic tramp and its not a bad wait because there its not super crowded. the people are really chill no shit talking.the park is also dope as fuck and last summer had the biggest jump on the mountain and killer rails. basically do you want pros(windells) or coaches(mhssc)

I was at MHSSC last summer. Had an amazing time. Yes the website does look a little sketchy but bro trust me you will love it! Im going back this year for 2 weeks. And yes the coaches at Mhssc are pros. Like Maks Gorham, Shea Flynn, Sean Logan, and much more. They are not the huge names which make them a lot less cocky and are there to teach you as much as possible.

For huge advise man, don't expect them to teach you things. You need to ask them to teach you. You have to ask them how to do things. They are not going to come up to you and say here is the trick you are learning today. You need to tell your coach that trick you want to learn. Then they will teach you it. Trust me man you will love it!

i am so annoyed right now, all ski-gabber is right now is re-posts, no offence to you, i feel like a typical Ns member right now.

MHSSC is the most legit camp out.

I did camper staff last summer and it was the sickest thing ever! I paid to be a camper for two weeks (split it with my parents), and then I got two weeks to be camper staff. If the rules are the same as last year than it means you can be a camper-staff member (do the dishes, bitch work, which is worth it for sure), for each week that you pay to be a camper.

But the only thing is that if you haven't been there before I don't know if they will allow you to work; this is a more low-key operation so they like to make sure you aren't a total shit-head before they allow you to work. But if you come as a camper and make a good impression, and they have a spot free, they MAY, may, allow you to stay on as camper-staff.

As far as facilities it's super legit, the tramp is just as good as the Windells tramps but there are a lot less people and there is a sick throw pad that staff can throw under you when you try new tricks. There aren't all of the activities like there are at Windells, but in my experience (I went to Windells a few years back), I just tramped every night until it was dark, and then just slept cause I was so tired haha, so I didn't even have time for a huge skate park or whatever.

The coaching at MHSSC is 1000x better than at Windells. I went to Windells and my coach (not naming names), just ditched us and skied on his own. I know that some of the pros at Windells will actually work hard at coaching you, but I have heard more often than not about experiences like mine.

All the coaches at MHSSC are super chill and love to help you learn new stuff, and no one there is a dick if you're just learning. And the on-hill park is super sick. If I were you I would go there in late June or July because the snow line goes all the way down to the bottom chair and you can do these super laps where you go from the top of the ski area through the MHSSC park and then through the public park (which is sick too btw), and all the jumps are big and sick and the rails are dope too.

Basically, if you love skiing and doing stuff like tramping that has to do with skiing, then you won't miss anything about Windells and you will be able to go 2x as long for the same amount of $.

The only advantage Windells has is if you have unlimited $ and you really want to skate and just do other stuff then tramp.

GO TO MHSSC!

They are good. Nothing gross or any different than Windells, (in my experience). If you go bring your own sheets just because the sheets at MHSSC don't have any elastic on them so they slide up all the time and don't stay stuck on the mattress.

Lodge is sick, has wifi and is a cool chill out spot. Pretty much everything you need, snacks, soda, fruit at all times.

They are all wicked chill. Almost all Facility is no older then 25, so we are all young there. All see things the same way. And are all there for the same reason. Kinda annoying how there are racers at MHSSC. But we all get along and have a fun time.

I progressed a ton. I learned 20 new tricks in a month. Which is about a trick a day that I skied on average. I'd say like 18 of those were all coached. Got a TON better.
