MHSSC or momentum??

im planning on going to a summer camp this year as you may have seen in my past thread and someone brought up mount hood summer ski camp, before that thread i had never heard of this i had only heard of windells coc momentum and any of the woodward ones, i really am going for the learning aspect and the having fun and chilling with people. i live in alberta so momentum would probably cheaper drive or flight but im worried that momentum will have alot of "im better then you" "you suck" sorta thing, because i have heard alot of that happens at windells. after a bunch of research that doesnt seem to happen very often at mhssc i have really low self confidence so that might be one of the reasons im worried about this lol. also i know that the park at momentum is better also it has a high speed tee-bar and you stay at a nice hotel and get to eat at resteraunts and stuff. my parents will not be paying for this they said they would give me 500 dollars !!!! (i am happy they did this haha) towards it for my birthday and christmas but i will have to come up with the other bit by working/shoveling and anything i can do lol.

also if this helps im somewhat new to freestyle and this will be my first year mainly foccusing on it (im learning threes and basic rail stuff) and i think it would be cool to meet some pros.

sorry for the whole essay you just read im not great at explaining things in short paragraphs.

anyways +++++k for help!

thanks alot NS

sorry for terrible formatting will change next time

heres an adorable avalanche dog to cheer you up

Momentum, it's a no brainer :)

haha yeah i have friends that have gone and love it i just am worried about the poossibility of everyone being like "im better then you" or "you suck".

MHSSC

it's cheaper, the coaches actually coach you, and everyone there is really chill, so you will not be hated on

nah dont be worried about any of that, nobody is like that at camp. Everyone up there is just stoked to ski in the summer and learn new tricks. Momentum put's you into groups according to your skill level, so you will be riding with people on the same level as you. Everyone is just up there to have fun in the sun and ski, negative vibes are not allowed! :)

I don't talk shit about other camps, but I'm happy to answer any questions you have about MHSSC, seeing as I've worked there for a couple of years now.

yeah the thing is this is my first season doing park but its like my 13th year skiing i think... and i heard they do it off how many years you have been skiing so i dont want to be grouped up with a bunch of guys that can do like a dub 14

first of all, corey (VANULAR) has been coaching there for a while so whatever he says about momentum is what happens

second I've been the past two years and ive yet to witness people being dicks about anything, everyones super hyped and nice for the most part. and they dont do the groups like that, they do it based of your ability and on the first day if you think your group is to good for your ability or you wanna be with a buddy you know or met there you can just talk to john smart and he will put you in a different group no questions asked basically. there is a reason i have went back because it is awesome!! youll have a super dope time if you go

theres a reason you haven't heard of mhssc

You're right. There is a reason. We spend next to nothing on media. Part of the reason why it costs less to go to MHSSC.

yeah haha thats true, when i saw that corey had posted on here i was so happy especially to have someone with experience from being there and of course is an amazing skier.

i think im going to go to momentum i have had a bunch of positive feedback from friends and it looks so sweet the only thing else id ask is what session to go to?? i was thinking about sesh two but then the splashdown and stuff is on the last one so im not sure also i think id want to go to one that is the 9 day one with the extra day but that isnt my top priority

If you can afford it I would say go to momentum. They have a bigger setup and its whistler so its a pretty sick place to hang out.

If you can't MHSSC is is great place to be. It might be a lot of hiking and the camp might be a little bit sketchy but if you ask for help the coaches will teach you a ton.

the snow is better earlier on, i have went session 2, 2 years in a row, to me its the perfect mix of good snow and the best setup. the only thing that i would've liked which the other two had is the day break in the middle, that would be nice. id say the best are 2 or 3

Went to momentum this summer and it was great. Great vibe, met a ton of people, great skiing. Plus you get to be in whistler

BUT I've heard really good things about MHSSC, so really you cant go wrong with either

No experience with Momentum but MHSSC is chill and the tater tots are dank...

I must agree. Consistently provide delicious food.

MHSSC! Im going this year sesh 5 because i cant afford momentum. If your helping pay for camp go to MHSSC because momentum is 500$ more.

Both are definitely the two best out of the 6 or 7 summer camps. If you go to mhssc get the day early deal. basically what your paying for for momentum is a little better facility, a better park, and u stay in a hotel. I personally would say save the 500$+ other expenses and get new skis/gear. Your choice tho. both are good.
