FUCKING SLAAAAAAAAYER

Slayer played literally at my ski hill five minutes away from me on their last tour. I didn't go for some reason and it's easily the biggest regret of my life

one of the best death metal albums of all time, all the guys were 16-18 when they recorded this

The part in left hand path when the guitar comes back in after the synth is pure bliss

love entombed.

You guys like any classic metal? Saw JP back a few years ago. Insane how Halford has still got it 50 years later.

Definitely surprised to see this thread, but definitely into it. I don't listen to as much heavy music as I used to, but I've delved way deeper into the grind/sludge stuff (cult leader, nails, trap them, converge, Gaza etc.) and black metal (Mgla, wolves in the throne room, sinmara, uada).

If anyone has some suggestions for similar stuff I'm down to check it out. Especially in the black metal stuff.

Cult Leader is so underrated, love them. I don't listen to a ton of black metal so you might already know these bands, but my top 5 are Darkthrone, Abruptum, Immortal, Deavheaven, and Judas Iscariot.

Omg I love them! They would play Denver like 2-3x a year, so I feel like I've seen them a million times.

here is some black metal that I like and some sludge too

Cool suggestions. I like some of it haha. For some reason I've never gotten into that lo fi sound (yeah I know, I'm total poser), so most of the older stuff I'm not that into. That's probably why I'm into the blackened sound that cult leader has. Heavy, good production, lots of blast beats, lots of atmosphere. What more do you need.

yooo Come My Fanatics is brutally heavy dude, Son of Nothing is my jam lmao

Electric wizard is the greatest thing to happen to stoner/sludge (barring black sabbath of course). Seeing Ethan Fowler's skate part in cataclysmic abyss is what sold me immediately. Probably my favourite song too.

i had a buddy in film class in HS from upstate new york who made a film project for class and used Funeralopolis as the song and was forever hooked since. So fuckin brutal. Kids had no idea what the fuck was going on haha

I am a pretty diehard Metallica fan. Ive been listening to Sepultra a bunch lately though. Also love me some slow sludgy stoner metal too.

Definitely one of my favorites. Ohms was a fantastic album, much better than I expected at this point in their careers.

Gojira and Deftones are supposed to be touring together this fall so I need the rona to go ahead and gtfo.

Yea they’re supposed to be playing 10 mins from me. I’m hoping the show goes through. Both tremendous bands

I'm working on a battle jacket right now for when metal shows do start back up.

Me and my girlfriends cursed a random lake in Colorado and called it Lake Mayham.

We would do these metal as fuck Live Rituals worshipping the lake, with like costumes and fire and music

Love me some deaf heaven. Was supposed to see them live but Covid...

This is a bad ass thread! Lots of good music in here! A few other oldies to add are Prong, Pantera and some Iron Maiden.

Symbolic by Death is an absolute slapper of an album. I’ve been bumping crystal mountain for days.

ALSO happy metal Monday!
