Metal buckles on Drop Kicks?

so I recently got a pair of drop kicks and the plastic buckles look like I'm just going to break one walking around. so if I want to order metal ones from full tilt which ones fit?

Yes, they'll fit. Plastic buckles are shit, since they're plastic.....

The question is, can you get some? There are rumours that no buckles are available.

Go to your local shop or where ever you go your boots and ask them to order some in, or at least contact Full Tilt to see if buckles are available.

sweet because the last thing I want is to be skiing and one breaks. So i figure ill just be smart and order them before they break.

just bring hockey or duct tape, i broke 2 buckle(top and middle) 2 months ago and ive been riding with duct tape and hockey tape for the last 2 months cause im too lazy to order new buckle haha and it still work perfect! so just always bring tape with you, problem solved.

Ducttape should be back up.

I don't know if your plastics will break right away, or even break at all. But metals are always safe measures.

mine haven't broken yet and its been 2 months.I can feel the middle buckle flex quite a bit when I'm cranking it down but it is still fine so don't bother.

all full tilt buckles are shit, i've broken 13 (all metal ones)

for 2013/2014 they are redesigning them though thank god, talked to the rep about them the other day

last year i broke mine in half, but i was to lazy to go to my shop, so for the rest of the season i used a flat head screw driver to open it and one of my friends to kick it down

Buy old rachielle shells from a thrift store. I got a pair of 84 flexons and all the buckles are money. Rachielle>full tilt>knessi, when it comes to buckle strength

I have 300+ days on my OG booter shells (before they made the booter the wide boot) and I have yet to break a plastic buckle. all of my buckles ratchet mechanisms are broken though, they just have to be held in the tightness you want until you latch them and then they work like a charm.

I agree that duct tape should be a last resort Im not into Macgivering my boots. But i think ill order some anyways just because I feel better with the metal ones. Ouch I need 6 buckles at $20 each thats $120 just on buckles. Should I just wait for next years redesign and hope they are backwards compatible? Oh and just because I don't feel like making bother thread, I have flex 4 tongues right now, but I'm going to be going on a trip to BC and some decent skiing what flex would be better 6 or 8?

Im going to have them for a bit and I want to be able to abuse them without them breaking, basically so I know I can send it and not have any problems. As for the tongues i don't really want to be having a bad time skiing because my boots are too flexible on a big ass mountain.

Get a stiffer tongue. Like an 8. This might cause you to not lean too far forward as much, thus reliving the stress you put on your cables ad buckles. Just a theory

your buckles are fine...I smashed mine on boxes and rails and everytime I tighten the middle one I have felt it flex for the last 2 months I've had them.Seriously man, don't fix something that isn't broken.
