Messsssed up binding

So it was kind of warm out today and I just got over being wicked sick for the past week so I decided to go out and hit a little jump I had in my backyard. The snow was perfect for packing it down so I built a nice little kicker and started hitting it. I was messing around trying diffrent stuff and then I started practicing my fives but i kept landing kind of hard because it was that hard cement type snow that just gets wicked packed down. so i landed a couple in a row and then tried to go a little bigger even though i was having trouble with speed and i popped pretty high and my ski got stuck in the snow and double ejected. i thought everything was fine until i went to get my ski that was stuck in the snow and found this....

i was just wondering if anyone else has seen this happen or had this happen to them before??? because i sure havent.

basically my toe peice got rotated like half way around when i popped out. i just had to get a screwdriver and take the toe piece apart to fix it but i was scared there for a little bit because it was wedged into the plastic and now theres a little dent from it on my plastic so obviously it was pretty close to snapping off

I know they have multidirectional release but i didn't think it was THAT multidirectional

yeah i did i just had to take the din way down to be able to twist it back. ive just never seen it happen that bad. ive had it happen to my silencers where i had to step on it to put it back butt this was literally perpendicular to the ski. these pics were after i hit it back a couple times. but i thought i was going to break it if i kept hitting it like that so i took it in to fix it with a screw driver

wow, mine kinda did that too. but. the little plastic piece between the din indicator and the wings things broke off. and now if i land back seat at all, the wings slide up about half an inch and my boot just falls out of the binding

happened to my friends axial's last year, not broken or really messed up, they are built to twist like that if you crash in the right way i guess. when it heppened to him, he just kicked it back down and continued on, no problems since then.

Yeah, happened to me before. I was hitting a pretty tall box switch and ate it. I freaked then my friend told me to kick it and everything was okay.

that sounds exactly like what happened to my axials last year after overshooting a jump badly. It just popped back into place and hasn't been an issue since.

Dude, that is why you buy Look bindings. Pivot toe + pivot heel (your binders aren't) = total knee safety. Just kick it over, check to see if your din is still set at the desired setting, and ski happy knowing your ACL, MCL, and PCL are safe for another day.

yea both my bindings did the same thing last year. i brought it to the dude at the bottom and he said he never saw anything like it so i hammered them myself into place

ya it happens alot I have done it before with some rossi 120's...just slam it with your boot or a rubber hammer into place
