Yah, so there's an old friend of mine who used to live in my town, but moved away to LA a few years ago. He was doing super good there, he was on 'change of heart' and 'the price is right', was in 3 movies and was one of the nicest guys ever.

Well, on saturday night him and his friend met some girls in a bar. After the bar closed they all went to chill at someones house. My friend and a girl were in another room...and suddenly a shot rang out. Another guy opened the door and saw my friend dead on the couch, and the girl standing there holding a gun.

That part of the story hasn't made it home yet. We're 'guessing' that either she was showing him the gun and it went off by accident, or he did something to provoke her (though i can't see that happening).

yeah handguns are ridiculous, only plus to living in NJ, have some of the stricktest gun laws

You can have handguns over here if you have a license for them, but its still rediculous. About 5 years ago here some guy let loose with a semi automatic weapon and killed over 30 people over the space of about two hours. Everyone called for tougher gun laws, but it still hasn't happened.

In canada it's illegal to own a firearm without a license.

In Compton in the states (where is that?? new york??...just saw part of a show) there are 300000 people in that area and it works out to more then 1 handgun per person.

You can have handguns in NZ Timmy, but the laws on them are hella strict. I think you have to be a member of a gun club, and leave your gun at the club. It never leaves the club house.

But yea. Gun laws are pretty strict in NZ. If you own a gun you have to have a locked cabinet to store it in, and you are not allowed to store ammo with the gun. If you are a collector you have to have a safe for the guns which has to be bolted to the floor.

Thankgod we have none of this 'right to bear arms' bullshit.

But yea man..gutted on your friend aye. Even more so cause it was so sudden and unexpected.

My grandma had a gun. it was an old german leuger(sp) that her brother I think took from some germen guy. It sat in the house from the end of WW2 till 98 or so. but when my grandma found it hidden in a box in the basement she had to liscence it and keep it under three locks at a time. it was such a hassle.

And I just saw an interesting fact today.
