I think the guy answering the questions was a little biased. But truthfully, I bet America would be pretty darn hard to completely conquer right now. Maybe if some countries built an ass ton of nukes, then used those. I don't really know much about that kind of stuff, but it's crazy to think about.

 
If America were to be nuked, America would retaliate long before the missiles reached their target, so I'm gonna go ahead and say that Mutually Assured Destruction =/= conquering anything. Let's take nukes out of this equation entirely.

Doesn't the average gun owner have something like 5 guns? So 270 million divided by 5 gives us 54 million gun owners. That's still a lot but it's also less than 20% of the population of America. Sooo there's that
 
not every owner has 5 though there are a lot of people who only have one gun, for example many people only keep one gun in there house solely for the purpose of home safety.
 
Valid point but the number of 89 guns per 100 residents or households or whatever you said is a little skewed. I think the actual average is closer to 3 guns per owner so to get to that number there must be a lot of people owning 5 to offset the people owning 1. That still puts us under 30% of the population. While America might own more guns I think Swtizerland does have the highest percentage of gun owners, or at least they were the last time I checked
 
Yup. I'm pretty sure Switzerland doesn't really have a (significant) military because they're supported by the militia. They're basically trained every once in a while and that's that.
