Members of Congress Have Asked Pres. Obama to Remove Marijuana from Schedule 1 Classification

except for the part where thousands of jobs created to keep MJ illegal would have to be sent to other departments or removed altogether.

except all those jobs are under government payroll so it saves the gov money so they can put it towards paying 16 year olds entitled to a higher minimum wage

it's because with that classification, the legal vendors arent allowed to open bank accounts to hold their money.

The way they deal literally involves spraying huge wads of cash with febreeze to mask the smell and transporting it personally in briefcases.

People who work for these stores literally get their paycheck in the form of an envelope full of febreezed weed-money.

read it in time magazine in case anyone cares, its super interedesting

The fact that we still vote for people that think it should be illegal, and classified as such in 2014 is fucking mind blowing. People are stupid. We pretty much deserve to be where we are.

This is like being 20+ and asking your mom if you can go to a friends house or something. Shouldn't even have to ask this shit in 2014. We need to end the fucking drug war.

If you fail to see a single argument against weed then you're not much better than who you're talking about.

From justice.gov

"Schedule I drugs, substances, or chemicals are defined as drugs with no currently accepted medical use and a high potential for abuse. Schedule I drugs are the most dangerous drugs of all the drug schedules with potentially severe psychological or physical dependence."

from reason.com

"In Colorado, parents Matt and Paige Figi struggled with trying to help their daughter Charlotte, suffering from long, untreatable seizures. Eventually, she was diagnosed with an extremely rare form of epilepsy called Dravet Syndrome. Its seizures cannot be controlled through conventional medication. They tried everything. Matt, having given up a military career, searched for anything else that could help as Charlotte was slipping away from them...

By then Charlotte had lost the ability to walk, talk and eat.

She was having 300 grand mal seizures a week...

They decided to give medical marijuana a try, even though Paige said she had voted against legalizing it...

...the results were stunning.

"When she didn't have those three, four seizures that first hour, that was the first sign," Paige recalled. "And I thought well, 'Let's go another hour, this has got to be a fluke.' "

The seizures stopped for another hour. And for the following seven days.

Charlotte is now 6 years old:

Today, Charlotte, 6, is thriving. Her seizures only happen two to three times per month, almost solely in her sleep. Not only is she walking, she can ride her bicycle. She feeds herself and is talking more and more each day."

hmm dont know why the font and spacing on that got so fucked up. my b. anyway my point was it is ridiculous that marijuana is a schedule 1 drug since it has a completely viable medical use. sorry for double post

Believe it or not, most people don't decide who they vote for based on whether or not that politician supports legal weed. Mind blowing, I know.

No shit. Most people don't vote for a politician by their stance on real issues either. It's more about how they look, sound, and who cnn or fox tells them they like.

I mean in 08 the economy was the big issue, yet the main candidates were fucking horrible as far as their records on economics.

To me that isn't the one issue that sticks out. There are a ton of issues and if people paid attention to them, thought the least bit fucking logically about them, and voted for people who would bring a positive change, we would be in this shit hole we find ourselves.

If things get incrementally shittier, people will bitch a little but just deal with things as they get progressively worse. Regardless of their complaining, they'll never vote for anyone different. As far as shitty things that have been around for generations, people see it as "well it's been that way for a long time" so why change it.

People have a pretty messed up approach to their voting. That's why I really don't expect any overall positive change after an election. It keeps me from being disappointed.

TLDR

YOLO
