doesn anyone else find it weird too look at new memebers and look at their member number and be like wow i cant beleive that thats how many people have joined since i joined up to NS... just a thaught, and yah i find it weird to look at the new numbers and i'm just amazed that it has grown that much in 2 years or so...
 
jea. on the homepage, it says 'join _ _,_ _ _ members. NS has alot of people associated with it. but then you have to think that a good number of them are people who make new names, alias's, and people who get banned
 
yessss I'm new:D ....it' s a good organization for persons who really are interested in skiing..but I think that there'r a lot of persons that are interested in sth more than only skiing:D
 
There are 12x as many members now as there were when I signed up, and I signed up about a year after I started browsing the site, so had I signed up when I started browsing the site I'd be in the 2000-6000 member number range.
 
yeah i wish i joined when i started browsing! i wouldnt be an old timer like yourself but i would be down in the 45000 range
 
so many newer members tahn me have so many more posts...i don't get it. Im on here a lot, but 3000, or 40000 posts- that's ridiculus
 
New faces are great, so keep the members comming. But yeah, veteran pride is needed. Is there a cult for the oldies?
 
^i dunno, but i dunno how long you'd have to be on here for to qualify, like i havent been on for htat long of a time, but longer than some
 
Its funny cause it was the same with me. When I first starting browsing NS back in the day I didn't even realize there was forums!! I thought it was just a site about sick pictures, videos and articles. I too browsed for easily 9 months before stumbling into the forum areas existence, and was asked for a username and password. I avoided signing in because I thought it was just some stupid hassle. If I had joined when I started browsing I'd be really curious to see what member number I really am. Prolly top 100ish? Not sure...
 
yea same...i just looked at the pics and videos then i relized there were forums and i thought maybe you had to pay or it was gonna be a pain to join
 
Haha, so true Duncan. The very first time I came to newschoolers all I did was look at trick tips and the photo gallery. As for forums, I didn't know they existed, I only posted on the lineskis.com forum, haha.
 
Yeaa! The first ski forum (or forum of any sort for that matter) that I posted on was the old school K2 Ski forum. That place used to be the shit. Most of the kids on there were some of the first kids on here and informed me that I needed to see the light of NS. Wa-la.

but if i wish i would have signed up when i first saw this site though, becuase then i would be in the 3,000-5,000 range.
 
There are more members joinging in a week then there were members total when I started. I felt like I had a pretty high number because i came on here for quite a while before I signed up. I was literally here from day 1 though and its crazy to see how big its grown
