Mega Beer Thread

Its really all about the beer that costs the least, with the highest alcohol content. Atleast, thats how it is for students. If found that Pabst - an absolutly horrible, watter beer - Is the ultimate student choice because I can buy it in 12 packs of cans for only 10.99 canadian.

But personaly, my absolute favorite beer is one from a Micro Brewry in Lennoxville, Quebec. Its called "Lion's Pride" cause its brewed at the Lion micro brewery. Its a very dark beer, but despite its bitterness, it tastes like candy. If any of you are ever in or about Lennoxville... Hit up the lion and order yourself a Pint of Pride, or buy a 2 liter jug of it at the local grocrey store for 13 bucks.

I was wondering what you guy's first experence with beer was. I remember being a little kid and wanting to try what my dad was drinking. I asked him, and he said sure. So i took a gulp and it was just about the worst thing I had ever tasted. I guess at my age, i was expecting something sweet like pop and when I didnt get it i was grossed out. When I was re-united with beer, it took me a while to apreciate the taste.

I seem to remember drinking a beer on my dad's sailboat with my uncle and pops when I was 11 or 12. I didn't think it tasted good at all, but would never admit it because I felt like the coolest little shit ever.

Alright guys, I am leaving the country for four months early tommorow mourning and right now don't have access to the internet. I'll be working in Japan for 2 months then travelling through China, Laos, Vietnam and Thailand for 2 months. If anyone wants a link to my photo blog that I'll have during the trip, shoot me a message. Cheers!

My first clear memory of tasting the old man's beer was a RED DOG. hahaha.

And if people think that beers like PBR or any crappy ice beer are giving you the best alcohol content per dollar, you are wrong.

I can grab bottles of 8-11% abv beer for around a dollar. I don't think 5% at $0.75 or whatever is going to cut it. Do the math, PBR's content is not high (4-5) and you pay like $0.50 per beer. So let's say that deadlocks it with my $1 10% beer... which one tastes better? And drinking twice the volume just doesn't appeal when it tastes half as good.

My last girlfriend's dad is the president of the company that imports the following brands:

GUINNESS

Smithwhick's

Red Stripe

Harp

Bass

and basically every liquor label you can think of (from Cuervo to Bacardi)

So yeah, when I went to her house in VAIL for spring break every fridge was stocked with all of the above^

And yes, I've considered suicide since... she was drop dead gorgeous.

FUCK.

i am very sorry to disagree here you were right about everything apart from the budwieser. budwiser originally came from belgim, (its actually a style of beer) the united states started to make budwiesier and then put a registed trade mark on the name. so it is orinally belgium but no cannot be made anywhere but the united states. how do i know this? im doing my masters in bar manegment, and run 2 bars in sydney with a beer list of 280

I tried Mort Subite Kriek the other day. The word zoiks comes to mind.

cherry tasting beer... pinkish color. A little too much on the cherry side for me, not enough of a beer taste.

If you think Guinness is an acquired taste, you have to try some fruit lambics (Belgian)

Here is the lineup of my most recent victims.

Pretty sick company there considering Yuengling is the "worst" of all of them (and still a great beer btw, not knocking it)
