Meeting Pros

On Gaper day at Timberline (also WCS public day) I rode up the lift with Will Wesson and Giray Dadali. About halfway up the lift I turn to them in full gape and asked "Do you guys know how to backflip?" They looked at each other and tried to stifle their laughs, and then looked back and replied "yeah." I asked them for advice on backflips and they gave me some tips, it was also a super foggy day so they were basically trying to convince me not to try it yet. As we were passing the parks I pointed over to the large jumps and said "I think I'm gonna try it on those jumps." Will immediately tried to talk me out of it in a sort of friendly way.

As we were about to get off the chair I look over at them and said "Im just fuckin with you guys, I'm the best skier on the mountain." and then proceeded to ski away and do some sick spread eagles.

I really hope you sent a flip in the midst of those spread eagles

Saw Tom and Henrik in the parking lot at mount snow during the Dew Tour back when I was still a little gaper. I didn't know who they were, but I knew they were pros, so I pointed at them and said to my friend "Dude, those guys are pros". They then pointed back and said "YOOOO" followed by a bunch of hoodrat shit that I didn't understand back then.

Two years ago at a Poor Boyz premier in Seattle I asked bobby brown if I could be on Bobby's life. He said I could and then told him my name was boner. I think it's around 6:40 in episode 18 of Bobby's life

hahahah, I just looked it up then. "I can't say boner" props to you for still having a sense of humor while around Bobby.

when i was in quebec for Jr nationals I saw abm in the lodge. Turned out he was awarding the medals for slope and I got one!

I was skiing at breck and met Nick Geopper. I tried my first dub right in front of him and he got hella stoked. He was a charilift behind me after that and asked my name, age, and where I am from. I stomped it 3 runs later and he called my name from the chairlift and told me it was sick. I was too stoked.

Just go to Whistler in the summer and you will meet any pro you want. Or Hood I guess, but I've never been to there.

I had a few skiercross races with John Spriggs and several other locals at Vail a few years back. They groomed the side of the jumps burms and we had a great time.

Haha that's awesome, I particularly enjoyed the 10+ second blank stare into the camera when Bobby's talking.

When I was in 6th grade, (2007-2008 season) I had Thanksgiving Dinner with Tanner Hall. I am family friends with his technician and Tanner was in CO training at Copper early season so he came over with them. My parents kept it a surprise for me so I was speechless when Tanner walked in my door with them carrying an apple pie.

I remember he saw the 20 questions game on our coffee table and he became obsessed with it. He also encouraged me to go out and ski, and not be a park rat. I remember him saying "Pow is where its at."

Needless to say I was a pretty stoked 6th grader.

i was standing in line at early season copper when the pipe jocks come out to train. standing in the singles line, i see Tanner Hall standing right next to me in the line over. He complemented the Inspired Tall T i was wearing.

Pretty cool dude i thought

One time i saw a bunch of guys decked out in level 1 and stuff and thought they were a bunch of random jibbers, but since they had facemasks on i didn't realize it was Will Wesson, Chris Logan, and Logan Imlach until i saw they had taken a trip to where i live.

Henrik can never do anything wrong in the eyes of NS…What if I told you that Henrik/B-Dog/Inspired went to a couple of ski shops in Tahoe for signings during their tour and said some super creepy shit to a whole bunch of different girls who worked at the ski shops that I knew?

I'm not saying there's anything wrong with people doing shit like that…I just think that NS needs to come to the realization that it's OK to recognize the fact that their favorite pro's (which on this site, is the Inspired roster) are not perfect in every aspect of life.

Good skiers? Yes. Stoked attitudes most of the time? Yes. Not afraid to speak their minds? Yes. Obnoxious in getting their point across? Yes. Great all-around role models? Not really, no. Eligible for big mountain skiing competitions? Fuck no.

it really isn't a big deal skiing in Whistler, during WSSF I did the pro callout to Bobby and I don't think Gus got it. He yelled back to me "Hey, if you're so much better why are you riding the sleds with us!" All the other pros waiting to get back up the course were laughing.

on a first name basis with comtpon lupe and during the summers i party with franchino. met the b and e at mt snow. yeah thats pretty much it

I saw Joss Christensen, Matt Walker, and Torin Yater Wallace drive by after the dumont cup and I put out my thumb and they picked me up and brought me to some resturant.

My friends and I are at the age where meeting pros is not as big of a deal as it used to be. But one night, we found our way to the Dumont Cup after party. First, I found my self taking a piss next to Nick Goepper who stumbled in and chose the urinal next to me. Then once we had washed are hands and talked about the pronunciation of his last name, I went out to find my friends had befriended Alex Schlopy, who bought us all three rounds of drinks. After we hung out for a couple of hours, hooking Matt Walker up with a girl, watching as Nick Goepper slips in between anyone that got near his sister, and playing a round of big buck hunter with Torin, we decided It was time to head out. On the way out we found Torin and Joss trying to get a ride back to the hotel, we provided... in my moms car. After making a stop at the gas station upon Torins request for munchies, we dropped the two olympians safely back to the hotel.

tigerrstyle imagines Bobby picking him up from the airport and catching him in a hug while he's holding flowers and pushes his flowing hair back while Bobby kisses him, and Boner feels like everything is right at that moment. They drive home and Bobby has made him pasta carbonara with a bottle of white wine and tiramisu for dessert. They eat by candlelight, and Boner laughs with Bobby harder than ever before. They see the lock of love in one another, and later that night Bobby pulls off Boners shirt and clothes and throws them over his pile of Red Bull helmets, and they make sweet love while Boner has a blank stare until he looks at Bobby and feels the surges of passionate love pass through each of them.

Gus kept calling and calling, with no answer. Boner was Bobbys true love.

at borderline camp once, zach d and durty tim were my coaches. at the end of the week i bought zach's obermeyer suit from him but he couldn't find the pants and realized that tim was probably using them so he sent me off to find him. I find tim just about done riding for the day and start talking to him about how great the week was, and then mention i had recently purchased the pants he was wearing from zach. he sort of just hung his head and slowly started taking off his pants in the parking lot, i felt bad.

another time i saw pep in the causewell shop, i had just bought his kung fujas the day before and snapped them while hand flexing them in my living room. i jokingly asked him if he would stand behind a product with his name, and if he could help me warranty them.

I gave Glen Plake and his wife a ride from the airport last spring. Hands-down coolest guy I've met in my life. I could tell he was totally stressed and tired from traveling all day but he still took the time to talk to everyone else in the van and said later he loves getting people stoked just by being able to meet and talk but at the same time he was so humble and just stoked to have been able to ski for a living for the past 25 years.

I had my axe ready for an autograph when I dropped him off, then we just talked about biking for a while. And then his wife called me back 10 minutes later because they forgot to tip me - cash, posters and a neckwarmer. What a guy.

I once saw the traveling circus van at my local mountain. We saw them when they filming for East Coast Hard Core Real Stuff pt 1 this year. It was so sick

I met Dumont at Sunday River and we went up the lift twice and then the next week at the Dumont Cup he recognized me. Also saw torin, gus, alex bellmare, and goepper

When I was in 6th grade I met Tom Wallisch at the Mt. Snow Dew Tour. I was a total gaper, but knew exactly who he was. There was like a blackberry game you had to play at a Verizon booth and whoever won got to take some laps with Tom. I got 2nd, but asked if I could still go and one of the employees gave up his spot so I could go (thanks man), riding the lift I was in total shock the whole time. It's foggy because I was so young I just remember asking him about all the different shit he had going on, 4bi9, his competition run, etc. To this day I remember following him as his first trick of the run was a cork 3 on the first jump in Nitro, mid air his ski fell off and he landed on one foot then rode away. One of the Verizon employees skiing with us grabbed because I hadn't been hitting the jumps cause I was a pussy. We took like 3 or 4 more runs and he was so chill about it, that's all I remember though.

Meet up with him a few years later (4 i think) at Windells but never reminded him it wasn't the first time I'd met him. Since then I've met many more pros/ams (Compton, Andy, Wesson, Collins, Maks, Shea, Lupe, Goepper, etc.), but it'll never be as sick as wallisch.
