I'd be down hopefully you wouldn't mind being in a house with 4 college kids haha there's never a time where we don't have at least an ounce on deck

Half the time that's what my house ends up being anyways so no worries there! I plan on checking out a handful of the resorts when I head that way

Whenever I go back to CO I experience what you're talking about. Up here in MT it doesn't seem to be as big of an issue maybe because the NS and park skiing community is pretty small and everyone ends up getting to know everyone. Idk. I love meeting NSers on the hill, some of my best friendships are through this website and its great having a big crew of people to shred with. I have gotten a few people who have been all "you're youngdaph right? whats up with spray the beaver?" hah.

There is decorum both ways. Most people shut up on the lift after exchanging pleasantries if you don't continue the conversation.

Lots of skiiers on the lift suck and you'd have to wait for them if you agreed to ski the mountain together its OK to just get a few turns in with someone off the top of the lift that you just chatted with and if you and them are similar abilities meet at the bottom ride up together and talk more. If they blow dip out if they are way better than you try and keep up.

If you wanna chill with someone cool from the lift off the hill talk about shit like partying or finding weed/coke off the hill and you might have a new friend to meet up with after.

Op I see what you are saying but it's not everybody and it's not just this time of year. Sounds like you have had some bummer interactions lately but it can happen to anyone.

I think the main reason there are less locals is that most people are seasonal skiers (locals included). Peak ridership is Christmas through early winter and then seasonal skier start to hang up their gear. The influx of out of town skiers really has nothing to do with this. If anything the out of town skiers make it better for the locals by creating a demand for spring operations and the park etc.

I met Chubz for the first time on the chair Monday and can verify that he does talk on the chairlift. Don't think it was his crew that is giving the cold shoulder.

Some people just don't know what's up. I think it's by far the minority but it is always a bummer to encounter someone that doesn't know how to have fun.
